I Believe In Miracles

I just started reading "I Believe in Miracles" by Kathryn Kuhlman that my parents gave me. They sent me all of their old study materials. This is an old book first published in 1962. I've read the first miracle about Carey Reams and his story is amazing.

Anyway, if anyone else has read this book or just wants to talk about Kathryn Kuhlman - I know only a little about her ministry. ;)

God Bless

I'm at chapter 6. Chapter 4 is the story of George Orr who lost sight in his right eye due to an industrial accident. Because of the strain of having to compensate for both eyes, his left eye started to go too after some time.

Then he started going to Kathryn Kuhlman's services and one of the times he asked God to heal his right eye. He felt warmth go to the right eye, and to make the story short, he was miraculously healed and could see clearly out of both eyes.

God did more than just heal his right eye. Praise God! He wants us perfectly well.

I'm reading chapter 13 now. Chapter 12 is about Bill Conneway, who during WWII was shot in the hip and left for dead. Germans came and debated on whether to shoot him or not. The decided to let him live and sent him to a nearby hospital. The hospital was bad to say the least.

To cut down on the story he finally made it back to the US, but was in terrible shape. Eventually he had to wear a brace or his spine would collapse. He went to one of Kathryn Kuhlman's services barely making it to his seat. During the service his whole body started burning and he was nauseated.

The Power of God went through him and healed his entire body. He took the brace off and was running up and down the aisles.

Just a few chapters left of this book, then I'll move on to another :)

Chapter 19 is about James McCutcheon who's doctor declared it a miracle that new bone was able to grow even though decalcification had already set in.

His thigh bone broke right at the socket and he had several surgeries that failed to fix the leg. But he went to one of Kathryn Kuhlman's services and felt burning as he sat, and sweat was pouring from him onto the ground. The Power of God healed him right there instantly.

Well, I know God did use Kathryn in some amazing ways. Being used does not make someone right. We have to separate doctrine from God's free gifts to anyone that will walk in faith. God used a Donkey to save a prophet, so that give us an idea where we stand even if we have laid hands on the sick and seen amazing results. We know them by their fruit.

A man was healed of cancer from something I preached. Nothing I did but speak the Word at Church. The Church has been instructed to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. Every single believer should walk in this as Paul said it was the basic foundation and wanted to go into deeper things but could not. (Heb 5-6)

I do like Charles Capps though. Authority in three worlds was a great book.

We must always remember the devil can also do miracles to a point. When God gave Moses the power to do miracles before Pharoah; Read about how the Devil could do many of those things through the magicians and sorcerers in Genesis.

Well, we don't see that today after Jesus took back that authority from him. We also see Satan rain fire on Job's sheep, same trick He will use again in Revelation.

Satan I am convinced God gave way to destroy Sodom with fire and burn up the people when Elijah was proving his God was stronger as Jesus told the disciples who wanted to call down fire on people for not hearing.......... You know not what spirit ye are of.

Satan has zero ability to heal or fix anything, there is nothing but death in him and everything he touches fails and dies. He can't even sustain a person he wants to use without driving them insane and eventually killing them.

Blessings.

I respectfully disagree with you. Have you ever read reports about a statue of Mary or Some other Image bleeding, or a Hand that suddenly bleeds called a " Stigmata"??

Do you believe for even a second God is behind these things?! I have had experience seeing and learning of such things

Why also were we warned about Satan " As a roaring Lion seeking whom he may devour"?? If you believe Satan has no power think again.
The Bible tells us: The Devil will be chained up by God when he returns to keep him from deceiving Billions during the 1000 year millennial kingdom..read it in Revelation
We can also see that if a person is a child of God; Satan must get permission to fully destroy a person ( Book of Job Chapters 1&2). You need to fully understand " A person WITHOUT the Spirit of Christ is none of his". We are in a 24/7 war for our souls on planet earth. Either you serve.Jesus or serve Satan...This is scriptual..

Satan is a disobedient Angel who did not have enough sense to stay on God's side. We really need to be concerned about that? The scripture says we resist the devil and he has to seek someone to devour, which means lots of us are not edible.

Since you want to talk scripture which we should.

Job 1:12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

Eph_4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

So what scripture here says Satan must get permission to destroy us? One says we are not to give the devil and place and resist him in faith (Peter) Both scriptures can't be right so that must mean your misunderstanding one of them.

If God gives the devil permission to destroy us, then giving the devil place or not won't matter as he already has a place given by God.

So which is it Ricko1?

The Devil cannot fully destroy a Child of God. Notice God let him make Job sick ( boils), destroyed his farm animals but God would not let him kill Job. It was a test of Job' s faith. God showed the Devil that Job would not waver in his faith in God because Job was determined to serve God.

The Bible tells us plainly " A man ( or Woman) Without THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST IS NONE Of HIS" ..?so who does that person spiritually belong unto? The Devil won Spiritual Control over most of mankind when Adam and Eve in Eden sinned Read the last.chapter in Genesis about Eden and see where the Angel with the flaming.sword turning every way and UNLESS a person surrenders themselves to
Jesus who will Love and Guide Them, The Devil will be their Master until they die or Repent and Surrender. Read it for yourdelf, and May The Lord show you....

" Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"
Notice he was addressing the Church, All covered in the blood of Jesus as I stated. Amen

The Devil can tempt anyone he wishes....Unrepentant Sinners, Church People, . The only difference like it tells in Job 1&2 The Devil has to get permission from God first....Who do you think the writer is talking about when he talks about " The Accuser of The Brethren"?

Devil stands before God everyday trying to accuse and blame we saints so he can get a " Shot" at us. When a person reads ALL the Scriptures they discover like I did I've 26 years. "

I think you need to be shown a few things Ricko1. I have studied Job for years.

First, we are to take no passage of scripture for any private interpretation. We need to compare scriptures and none contradict.
God never changes, and How God dealt with Job is the same God we have today.

All that He has is in your power, is just one passage of scripture. So we don't gain any understanding from just that one comment or make any doctrine out of it. Peter told us not to do that so we don't do that.

We need to find another place in the Word where God gave permission to the devil to destroy someone that served him.

There are ZERO

So since we have no other scriptural witness that God would actually do that to someone, then we know that we need to understand what happened with Job.

Did our good God really give permission to a mad, disobedient, evil, lying spirit to Murder the mans children who served him?
Is God really that way?

If you know God, then you know God would never do such a thing.

Job failed the test if there was ever a test, God never agreed to any test though:

What did Satan say.......... If YOU GOD touch all he has.................... If you touch him God............. then Job will "BLESS" you to your face.

Wait, Satan did not say "Bless" Satan said curse you to your face............................ It's translated correctly in the context it's in but it could have been translated better.

bârak Translated curse only in Job, it means to bless back or salute back in recognition for something done.
BDB Definition:
1) to bless, kneel
1a) (Qal)
1a1) to kneel
1a2) to bless
1b) (Niphal) to be blessed, bless oneself
1c) (Piel) to bless
1d) (Pual) to be blessed, be adored
1e) (Hiphil) to cause to kneel
1f) (Hithpael) to bless oneself

Barak means to bless back in Hebrew. Satan did not use any Hebrew Word for curse and it was only translated curse in the book of Job, it means to salute back or bless back which Job did.

Job did exactly what Satan said Job would do.

Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

Job blessed the Lord back for loosing his stuff and credited the Lord for doing those things to him.

So any theory that God was testing Job's faith, or Job needed tried or God was proving something to Satan goes right out the window.

Job did exactly what Satan said Job would do.

God said:
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him (Hebrew for attempting to entice or trick), to destroy him without cause.
(Job 2:3)

God saw no cause or reason to harm Job. God's words not mine and often looked over by those who have not taken the time to actually find out why Satan got Job and what actually happened.

So telling people that God can give the devil permission to get them is not scriptural and a great misunderstanding of Who God is.

If You want a debate on what God' s word I am out. I mentioned already this is not any " private Interpretation" as it appears you are doing without proper understanding.

When The Apostle told the Church Congregation " Be vigilant, for YOUR ADVERSARY as a roaring Lion walketh about Seeking whom he may devour"...why would Peter warn them ?

I never said the devil can't kill you. He can, but we don't give him a place to do so.

I also said your Father in Heaven never gave the devil permission to get Job and murder His kids. Your Father in Heaven would do no such thing. Job gave the devil a place, and that is how it always worked, God has never changed.

How it went down:

God watching Satan interact with Job. We have to remember they are two spiritual beings so they have information we don't. Satan grabs a theme to use against Job................ If you curse God Job, you die...... Everything will be gone if you curse God.

That was the devils theme as he always has that one thing he keeps pounding our minds with and invade our thoughts.

Job, your kids might be cursing God at their parties. You know what Happens Job if your kids curse God, right. They die Job!!!

So Job out of fear of loss sacrifices an animal for his kids every time they have a party. Just in case they might be cursing God as Job is afraid to loose his kids.

Is Job sacrificing out of faith in God's ability to protect? NOPE, He is motivated by the lie and fear the devil put in him. Fear of loss.

Satan shows up, God ask if you considered my servant Job, Satan says does Job serve God for naught? You put a hedge around all he has but IF YOU put your hands on him He will bless you back and blame you. "Curse"

Stop right there:

Satan is lying through his teeth here again. Job got his wealth by serving God. Job did not serve God just because God made him wealthy. If your willing and obedient then you eat the good of the land............ You must be obedient first, then the good comes.

Satan's first lie.

Satan tells God to harm Job.........................

God said nope, He is in your power.

Job is in Satan's Power because Job had been taking action to the devils lies. Curse God and die.

There was no permission given........ Behold means look and pay attention in Hebrew, there is no permissive Verb there at all.

Satan brings the same theme up to God he put in Job........... Job will curse you (Blame you for all bad that happens back) Job did just that through the whole book of Job. Elihu corrected Job. God jerked the slack out of Job at the end for saying all those dumb things about Him. Job darkened the counsel of God with words that have no wisdom.............. God said that, not me.

Job's wife gets in on the picture.......................... "Curse God and die Job, why hold to your integrity?"

Wonder where she got that at?

Job gave the devil a place. Because we have not been taught about fear and that fear is sin we don't see it right away. We know why David gave the devil a place with Bathsheeba, know why Moses did not go to the promise land but our lack of revelation of how deadly fear is, we miss it in Job.

God said fear not 58 times.
God said be not afraid 48 times. KJV

You break that command you give the enemy a place. Satan is the spirit of fear, and we should have nothing to do with fear.

Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
Job 3:26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.

What things came on Job? Those things he feared, and the loss of his kids was one of them.

Morale of the story............. Fear gives place to the devil........... resist fear with faith.

I will leave your thoughts with your thinking to just bow out of this discussion. You obviously lack Spiritual discernment of what I have attempted to show you and others who may be interested. I will take the high road not because I can' t answer your statements....rather to avoid a conflict with you..God Bless and have a wonderful weekend ( Spiritual hug)?
