According to the word ounce baptized you will receive new tongues, which is speaking in tongues.

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

the last part to verse 17 should answer all your questions.

I believed all my life .. and was baptized twice .. once as an infant, and again in my late 20's into a bible church ..
but I was born again-became a new creature & received the HS about 7 years ago ..
(basically I finally began loving God with my ALL)
I received the gift of teaching .. this to me is the most prized gift because it requires the HS to work closely with me on an almost daily basis ..

1Cr 12:28 And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.
1Cr 12:29 All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?
1Cr 12:30 All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?

The verse you quoted says various types of tongues, does not say not tongues but various, so one tongue may not sound the same as another, when speaking in tongues.

and the verse you quoted does not say ALL will speak in tongues ..
that is your exegesis ..

They shall speak with new tongues, that a out as plain as it can get,

Acts 2:1-4
King James Version (KJV)

2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

They all spoke with tongues not some but all, when filled with the Holy Ghost.

PAUL SAYS VERY CLEARLY THEY ALL DO NOT ..
1Cr 12:30
All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?

Paul is asking a question not stating a fact, there is a question mark at the end of the saying by Paul, other scriptures will say that all speak with tongues when they repent and are properly baptized according to The Word.

I was the same as you. Not everyone gets / wants the gift though ;).

indeed .. I know prophets and healers who have never spoke in tongues ..
nor did I when I received my gift .. nor do I want to ..
I like being in control of what my mouth says ..
I like when my heart, mind and soul praise God in unison ..

he is stating a FACT ..
unless of course all receive the gift of healing too ..
do not pretend you are not familiar with Pau'ls writing style

We are all accountable for our own salvation, I only say what the Bible says, I do not think I read what Jesus gives me in his Word.

There is a question mark at the end, jot and tittle, he is saying search the scripture for the answer.

now your being silly ..
learn to read in context ..
1Cr 12:29
All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?

GET THE FLOW ???
NOT ALL ARE APOSTLES ARE THEY ??? .. NO
NOT ALL SPEAK IN TONGUES DO THEY ??? .. NO

it is a whole series of OBVIOUSLY NO answered questions ..
Paul is known for this style ..

Act 17:11
Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

Not every Spirit-filled person will have the spiritual gift of tongues, which is a gift used in the church, in the congregation for the purposes of God relaying messages to His people, but every Spirit-filled Christian can pray or worship in tongues---which is the Holy Spirit using our voices to speak directly to God, bypassing our minds. Do they all do this? No, and specifically, it is because they do not know that they can.

I sought the gift and asked the Lord for it many times, until He finally led me gently to the place where I would receive it. Now I can pray and sing in tongues whenever I am led to do so, or when I so desire. Do I have the spiritual ministry gift? No. But I do have the grace gift that all Christians who experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit can enter into.
