What Does It Mean To Be "dead In Your Trespasses" Versus Being "alive" Together With Christ?

How do we still live as if we are dead even though we have been made alive?

Colossians 2:13-15
English Standard Version (ESV)

13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

This passage refers to our spiritual status as dead/alive, NOT being physically dead/alive.
You cannot be both dead AND alive. You are either dead, or alive. The passage says "who WERE dead in your trespasses" which describes our unregenerate state before God made us (believers) ALIVE. The unregenerate sinner is spiritually DEAD. It's only by the work of the Holy Spirit that God makes us ALIVE and able to discern spiritual things.

I am assuming your question in simple terms is, how do we keep on sinning even after being born again? Is that right? Romans 7:14-25 gives the answer. Many argue this refers to unbelievers. I don't think so. It is true for every believer. It is true for everyone in flesh. This gives the direct answer for your question.
