Hello Everyone!

I would like to introduce myself. I am a young women living in montreal, canada. I have always practice a faith since my childhood, but at some point when I've hit some questions not answer by the catholic church, I just went on discovering other paths. From my 15 years old, I studied paganism, wicca, buddhism, new age. I am now 28 and back on the christianity path. but not Catholic anymore. I am looking to find a church that will suit my desire of learning the faith. I went to a bible study in a presbytarian church and was pleased to hear the minister talk and be close to us. It is a big change when I think of my experience in the catholic church.

I always felt that it was wrong for a priest to be celibate all his life but to give advice to married couples how they should fix their relationship. And also never liked the fact that women had no place in the catholic church.

Beside my faith, I am a normal girl who enjoy life. I like to get together with friends and talk about various topic. I love to be creative through knitting, crochet, photography. I love watching movies and to go for a walk.

I would like to ask you a question so we could start a conversation at the same time. How long have you been a christian and how did your faith appeared in your life?

I am looking forward to read and exchange with you!

God bless you all. :)

Hi there; good to see you, Ms Maryse; how are you doing? God bless His Word to you.

For myself, I realized from the Bible that I was a sinner (Romans 3:23). I needed the Savior, I needed to be born again (John chapter 3), and when I simply cried to God in faith, He graciously saved me. My wife and I go to a Bible based church in Canada; we feel it's very important also to read the Bible together day by day and pray together. Blessings.

thank you for your reply. I have a non believer boyfriend so I cannot share with him, although he have read the bible 15 years ago, in hebrew. So when i refer to something, he knows exactly what I am talking about lol. its kind of funny.

God bless you Farouk

Ms. Maryse: Well, it's true that knowing about sin, and admitting to God that one is a sinner, are two different things, right?

I hope you'll be very encouraged with your careful Bible reading. The Lord Jesus Christ is the central theme of the Bible, including the Hebrew Old Testament: the believer can say: 'all the promises of God in Him are, yea, and in Him, Amen, to the glory of God by us' (2 Corinthians 1:20).

it sure is different. but to my fiancé, he is not sinning since he dont believe in sins. which is ok with me. he is not a bad man. he always do good to people around. he has his flaws but who doesnt? I think overall he tries to be the best that he can. And that is good to me.

Well, it's always good to remember Romans 3:23, anyway. And this is why people need the Saviour.

My wife and I were in Washington DC briefly and saw the Jefferson Memorial by the Tidal Basin, where the National Cherry Blossom Festival is held (we weren't there in the spring for it, though; I'd like to go then. Picture source: wikimedia, bobt54, CCA C3.0.)

Good morning, MaryseBlossom! Love your name! Isn't this forum great? It's so good to be able to talk about Jesus here and to discuss and learn from other Christians. May The Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you. :)

Hi Ms Maryse: Yes, it was the Japanese government that gave the cherry trees to the United States, which were then planted at the Tidal Basin, where the Jefferson Memorial was later built. (Then the Japanese government attacked the US at Pearl Harbor. Then the US nuked Japan. But the cherry trees keep growing their blossom. It's a funny world.)

Welcome --glad you're here.

Not trying to speak over my buddies here, I hope I can lend a voice in any misconceptions you may have regarding the Catholic Church, such has how women have "no place" within it.

God bless you, friend.
