Well, I think as long as we celebrate in a 'Biblically sound and Holy nature' there is nothing wrong in celebrating our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As far as I know, it is not a sin to celebrate-but it is the manner in which we celebrate that usually gets us in trouble. Also-God/ Christ, throughout the Old and New Testaments tells us to 'remember' the things he has done.
Why not remember and celebrate in a acceptable fashion for our God and Savior? Also, consider this-God outlined feasts and festivals in the Old Testament as well as 'communion' in the New Testament. "do this in remembrance of Me" - Jesus Christ
Sometimes traditions, culture, and 'religion' (rituals) can lead us astray from the true intent of our celebrations-this is something we should always be mindful of in any celebration.
Luke 22:19
I do not believe that Holy Week is biblical. Is Holy-week Biblical?
Yea, I guess the events that are celebrated during Holy Week are biblical but the calling for a week of services aren't. That would fall more under church traditions.I'm a bit confused - isn't Holy Week based on the last week of Christ? If so, how could it not be biblical?
I belong to a Bible church and we had a Friday service today that emphasized the words Jesus spoke on the Cross, "It is finished". Christ satisfied God's justice by dying for all to pay for the sins of the elect. These sins can never be punished again since that would violate God's justice. Is Biblical Week done by all sects of Chrisitanity?
We are digging into the realm of 'Protestant' verses 'Catholic' here-please tread lightly as the perspective difference can be rather heated...
As I said in my original post-is it a sin to celebrate our Lord, Savior, and God for all that he has done?
As to why shouldn't we celebrate? I think we should celebrate this, in some way, every day of the year.

I was raised by my mom in the Catholic church and left that faith and I now make the Bible the authority in my life.
People can take what it says in the bible an twist it into something that it isn't and call it tradition. I have experienced that when I was in the Catholic church. I respect the people that are Catholic as many of my family are, don't get me wrong. I just believe that if you compromise anything in the Bible it is the first step to apostasy and this is going to increase the closer we get to the Lords return. That's why it is so important to be teachable to God's truth even if we have a conception formed in advance of adequate knowledge from God's word. The problem is people are unwilling to change and in the end many will believe the lie. We need to trust in God with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding.
A Bible church is not a part of any denomination and takes the Bible as it's final authority. At our church we think that truth can stand examination. If it is said to be God's truth then we must be as a Berean and search the scripture. His word is precious because He is not a God of confusion. I've never like to be part of a church that has hierarchy because if the top officials of that denomination make a change that is unbiblical then the rest of the denomination has to follow to remain and that is compromise. Oh, well that's just me and how I follow God's call in my life.Silk <-------showing her ignorance again. What is a Bible Church?
And, I dunno why, but Friday always saddens me, somehow. The pain, the torture, and suffering for us. I know it is silly because the reason, of course, for all of it, is supreme. Then Sunday takes the storm and the clouds away.
