I'll answer your question with one of my own: What do you do with your friends? How do you become friends with them?

I talk to God... but sometimes he doesnt talk back lol.. well sometimes through out the day..but i dont know how to get him to talk to me like right while im praying... hmm in a way I feel abit pushy XD he is God so he doeanst have to talk to me when "I" want him to....so I guess... I should say...err..how do I wait on him... yah thats a better question.

How do i wait on the Lord? (during prayer..when i ask him questions and what not??)

I was going to let you all do the 'girl' thing, but a thought occurred to me looking at the title of this thread:
How To Spend Time With God And Seek Him Diligently ?

Well, what does Christ command us to do? Single Word answer: serve.

A: Become LIKE Him-characteristics
B: Become LIKE Him-Serve God, Fellowship & Share the Gospel.
C: Become LIKE Him-Serve people in grace & mercy.

We could list passage after passage, but the one that keeps going through my head is:

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 16:24-25

How do you wait on the Lord? Let me give you an example. Let's say you and I are having a conversation face-to-face. Let's say you ask a question, and I pause or I remain quiet for a few seconds. But you know that I'll answer, you know that I'll respond and you wait for my response.

Same thing with God. You are talking with him and you don't hear a response, but He's remaining silent. Well, first, He will respond. Just because he's not responding to you right that second or within a week's time doesn't mean He won't. Just as I was talking with you, I AM going to respond but maybe not right away. Does this make sense?

In Psalm 27:14, it says, "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." The word, "wait" comes from the Hebrew word qawa and it means to "expect, patiently." So, how do you wait? You expect God to answer. But be patient! Because it's not going to be on your time. I promise you, it won't. So go about your day, and open up your heart and your ears to His voice. Pray that He makes His voice loud enough for you to hear and that He helps you to expect on Him.

Christian Quotes About Patience

“The times we find ourselves having to wait on others may be the perfect opportunities to train ourselves to wait on the Lord.” ~ Joni Eareckson Tada
“If I have not the patience of my Saviour with the souls who grow slowly; if I know little of travail (a sharp and painful thing) till Christ be fully formed in them, then I know nothing of Calvary love.” ~ Amy Carmichael
“Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections but instantly set about remedying them– every day begin the task anew.” ~ Francis de Sales
“Cast not away your confidence because God defers his performances. That which does not come in your time, will be hastened in his time, which is always the more convenient season. God will work when he pleases, how he pleases, and by what means he pleases. He is not bound to keep our time, but he will perform his word, honour our faith, and reward them that diligently seek him.” ~ Matthew Henry
“Timing is so important! If you are going to be successful in dance, you must be able to respond to rhythm and timing. It’s the same in the Spirit. People who don’t understand God’s timing can become spiritually spastic, trying to make the right things happen at the wrong time. They don’t get His rhythm – and everyone can tell they are out of step. They birth things prematurely, threatening the very lives of their God-given dreams.” ~ T. D. Jakes
