The Necessity of the Resurrection

The Necessity of the Resurrection

There have been many who died for another, and some even called them ‘god’, yet they were false gods. But they could not save anyone. Some who have criticized us for believing in the resurrection, say the death of Jesus was all that mattered. And even movies have been made where He was crucified, died and was buried, but do not show or say he rose from the dead, which is not accurate.

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

Acts 2:29Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

It is necessary that we believe in the resurrection of Christ. In fact, the Word says we must believe this to be saved.

Romans 10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

A person can believe He died on the cross but if they do not believe Jesus rose from the dead, they cannot be saved. Even Paul was persecuted for saying we must.

Acts 23:8For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both. 9And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

Acts 24:21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

The argument may be made that if He died for us that is the only thing that mattered and that the resurrected was not that important.

1 Corinthians 15:12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.15Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

The fact is, the resurrection PROVES He is who He says He is.

Romans 1:3Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness,by the resurrection from the dead

Acts 1:2Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God

He was not just resurrected, but He IS the Resurrection.

John 11:25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

I believe it!

Amen .... A very good study .... I am now looking forward to Friday but most of all Resurrection Sunday .....

Low in the grave he lay, Jesus my Savior,
waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!
Refrain:
Up from the grave he arose;
with a mighty triumph o'er his foes;
he arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

2. Vainly they watch his bed, Jesus my Savior,
vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!
(Refrain)

3. Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior;
he tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;

1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

1 Peter 1:2Who were chosen and foreknown by God the Father and consecrated (sanctified, made holy) by the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and to be sprinkled with [His] blood: May grace (spiritual blessing) and peace be given you in increasing abundance [that spiritual peace to be realized in and through Christ, freedom from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts].

3Praised (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

He he .... Thanks GodSpeaks . Confirmation again ...

Oops I didn't notice. It was a little different. I just edited it for another version, I really like the amplified

John 11:25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

He is Life itself. Apart for Him we are not living but only existing. He gives abundant live here on earth and life everlasting. We don't have to live a life of defeat anymore for He now lives in us if we have recieved Him, and greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world. Each day of our life with Jesus is a blessed life. Even in the midst of trials, the presence of God within is our consolation and joy

Amen Sister . :preach::preach::goodpost::goodpost:

As I was meditating on the Resurrection, I heard the Holy Spirit speak these words:

Jesus came and died on the cross
So you could be saved and not be lost.

Be washed by the blood
Of the Son of God.
He rose from the grave,
So all can be saved.

Repent and believe what He said,
That he was raised from the dead.
Say "Be my Lord, I believe.
Now into my life, Lord, You I receive. "

Praise the Lord that's what its all about! Receiving Jesus :D

Amen .

"Just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:6-8

Without the Resurrection we might as well pack up,shut the lights off and go home because that would mean Jesus did not defeat death,hell, and the grave and that the devil won. The Resurrection is everything; But.......The seed of the woman crushed the head of the serpent and we are redeemed by the blood of the lamb!!!!!!! GLORY!!!!!
:dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance:

You got that right! If He was not raised, there is no victory, everything is useless, there would be no purpose in life and we would all be doomed with nothing to look forward to. This world is getting really bad, with all the problems some can't function.

Our lives can be snuffed out in a second no matter what our age because of sickness and tragedy. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. Life is short, as a vapor.

Even the dispcles were fearful for their lives hiding behind closed doors for fear they would be crucified too, and was why they forsook him.

Jesus preached healing and deliverance but looked like He even failed to deliver Himself.
But GOD DID raised Him from the dead! Hallelujah!

Hallelujah !!!!!

Without this historical event we would have no hope of eternity in Paradise with our Saviour .

Celebrating Easter means rejoicing in the life , death and resurrection of Jesus and recognozing the each of these events can teach us about the character of God .

God has worked , is working, and will work through all things ; even though now as we find ourselves awaiting His return .

He is our hope. Because He rose from the dead there is hope for any situation we are in because nothing is impossible with Him. Even those who have gone before us, we have the hope of seeing them again in Heaven

Psalm 119:81
My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word
.

Psalm 119:114
Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live;
26And whoever continues to live and believes in (has faith in, cleaves to, and relies on) Me shall never [actually] die at all. Do you believe this?

Jesus was not just trying to get Mary to believe he would raise Lazareth from the dead, but if ANYONE will believe, that is, if they depend on Him as their Lord and Savior and trust Him with their whole life, they will not perish but have everlasting life.

The necessity of Resurrection?

The best way to teach and convince of the truth is by DEMONSTRATION. And so "GOD who manifested Himself in the flesh" becoming a MAN like us, died and rose again from the dead called RESURRECTION.

Who among us is not aspiring to resurrect also from the dead at the White Throne Judgment, to be with GOD in eternity.
