Many Are Called but Few Are Chosen

Why were you chosen, and not your next door neighbor?

Why were you chosen and not your brother/sister?

Why were you chosen? You are no more special than anybody else.

You were chosen because of all the called, You responded. You came.

Selah

To those chosen God gave....:)

Quote: Why were you chosen?

I used to ask that question all the time.

God's sovereign grace. It goes back to the covenant He made with Abraham.

Romans 9:15
For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION."

After I read that verse I nod my head and accept it. I've thought many different things in my head, but no reasoning of mine can explain His Sovereignty.

Romans:9:10-16
10 This son was our ancestor Isaac. When he married Rebekah, she gave birth to twins. 11 But before they were born, before they had done anything good or bad, she received a message from God. This message shows that God chooses people according to his own purposes; 12 he calls people, but not according to their good or bad works. She was told, “Your older son will serve your younger son.” 13 In the words of the Scriptures, “I loved Jacob, but I rejected Esau.” 14 Are we saying, then, that God was unfair? Of course not! 15 For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” 16 So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.

"because, out of all the called, you responded." That's quite a thought. So, we are all called, it is just the one's who respond that are the chosen. Like, my dh is even called, but if he doesn't respond, then he will not be one of the chosen? Oh to be like a child and have his faith! Make it so, Heavenly Father.

Yup All were called.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
1) to predetermine, decide beforehand
2) in the NT of God decreeing from eternity
3) to foreordain, appoint beforehand) to be blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Those that answer the call are predestined (

I love sparrows. They're so drab. at least to my color vision. Nothing special about them except that they are always sooo cheery. They are part of our blessing

Some cool creation verses

Creation Testifies of the Creator

7"But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds of the air, and they will tell you;

8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,
or let the fish of the sea inform you.
9 Which of all these does not know
that the hand of the LORD has done this? 10 In His hand is the life of every creature
and the breath of all mankind. Job12:7-10

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of His hands.

2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
3 There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard. 4 Their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun, Psalm 19:1-4

6 The heavens proclaim His righteousness,
and all the peoples see His glory. Psalm 97:6

20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20

Creation praises the Creator

11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it;

12 let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy; 13 they will sing before the LORD, for he comes,
he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in his truth. Psalm 96:11-13

1 Praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD from the heavens,
praise Him in the heights above.

2 Praise Him, all his angels,
praise Him, all his heavenly hosts.
3 Praise Him, sun and moon,
praise Him, all you shining stars.
4 Praise Him, you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies.
5 Let them praise the name of the LORD,
for he commanded and they were created. 6 He set them in place for ever and ever;
He gave a decree that will never pass away.

7 Praise the LORD from the earth,
you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
8 lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
stormy winds that do his bidding,
9 you mountains and all hills,
fruit trees and all cedars, 10 wild animals and all cattle,
small creatures and flying birds, Psalm 148:1-10

12 You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12
