Question on Revelation

Hi, y'all.

Well, it's a certain part in Revelation that confuses me a little - I will give the scripture passage that is making me a little confused. I do not need a full answer about it, just a general idea of who it is. Thanks!

Passage/Scripture:
Revelation 12:5-6 - The Woman and the Dragon / "She gave birth to a son who was to rule all the nations with an iron rod. And her child was snatched away from the dragon. 6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where God had prepared a place for her for 1,260 days."

My question is:
Who is the woman's child? Is He Jesus Christ? Or someone else? And, though this is not my most important question, who is the mother of this child? I.e., the woman?

Thanks!

Nearer

maybe it is Jesus.Jesus says i am the son of man and the son of God.maybe Jesus understood this spirit war and God who is out of time brought him to show you the way.:)

the mother is Mary.

Not Really. The mother is the Church... See verses below also the Child is Jesus and the Dragon is the devil all the verses are below.

Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Jer 6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.

2Co 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present youas a chaste virgin to Christ.

Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.

Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Another clue to it not being Mary is the imagery of the vision. If your interprite the woman to be the litaral Mary then you will have to do the ame with very thing i that vistion and that wont work.

God Bless.

Well, I wasn't interested in the woman that much. I was more interested in the Child.

:)

I will just wait until someone gets a good answer.

The Child is Jesus Christ I will try my best to break it down.

Rev 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

Notice the Child was male and he was "was caught up unto God, and to his throne."
remember Jesus saying
Mat 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
another clue is the "who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron" Jesus said in Rev 2:27
Rev 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
and again...
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Thanks! I was thinking it was Jesus Christ but I wasn't entirely sure so thanks for clearing that up for me. :)

Revelations is one of the most controversial books in human history. I have see (over the years) dozens of well thought out theologies that seemed to include every detail and had everything mesh in what seemed to be perfect order. And yet these generally contradicted each other and those with these different points of view really seemed to rub each other the wrong way at times. My point- give everyone room to express their views on this as there is at least at this time no definitive answer for it all. Personally I believe that this book was locked away for a time and is now being revealed a little at a time to us as the Holy Spirit gives us eyes to see.
This is not an argument, nor am I being dogmatic but I am simply asking everyone to maintain a respectful attitude towards other members and their views.

The woman is the Pope in the Catholic religion. He is trying to be God. He is to be worshipped just like God.

The dragon is the vatican city or the Roman Catholic church?. I think because its shape, it is large like a dragon.

The 144,000 Jewish believers are known in the bible as tribulation saints and also known as The Remnant. 12 hours 12,000 from each house = 144,000 Jewish believers that find God during the tribulation period. Which starts after the signing of the 7 year peace agreement that is proposed by the anti-christ.

Isreal is the mother in which the 144,000 come from.
Revelation 7:4
Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.

Mark 14:14 "When you see 'the abomination that causes desolation'[a]standing where it[b] does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15Let no one on the roof of his house go down or enter the house to take anything out. 16Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. 17How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
