I remember reading a paragraph a couple of months ago. I hope I'm not imagining this. The paragraph advices to not receive outside assistance, but to work with our own hands.
It's ok to recieve help when you need it. It's not ok to accept help when you don't need it expecially when you are taking resources meant for those who are in need.
Work for a living and support those whom you are responsible for and if doing that work doesn't provide enough to support them then it's ok to accept a degree of assistance because you are honestly working.
Remember, we have to be honest with ourselves because God knows our hearts and He knows what we need before we even know.
It's Need not Greed.
In my situation I cannot afford health benifits for my whole family because I don't make enough to pay for the insurance and all of my bills at the same time. Am I wrong for being on Healthy Families for my children? No, I am being responsible and accepting that health insurance for my children because I persoannly cannot afford it. I work 40+ hours a week and my wife does too, we want to save up and buy a house but with the current state of the ecconomy it's not looking like we will be able to for quite some time.
Yes, becuase every person has times of need. We just need to make sure we are obeying the spirit and seeking the Lord during these times. He will provide through His own way which includes assistance from outside sources. We need to be honest with our dealings concerning work and recieving assistance. A lot of people make a lot more money than they claim on their tax forms and accept state funds and federal housing allotments because they can... not because they actually need it.I know what your saying. We need to work, and if its not enough money then its ok to get help with money if it's being available to us. But what about when not working, can someone still receive help thats available?
