My son used to have nightmares, we started praying everynight before he went to sleep for God to protect him from bad dreams and nightmares and they stopped.

I believe that before we sleep we need to make sure we have resolved any outstanding issues and forgiven anyone we know we may have something against.
We also need to stop giving the enemy more attention than he merits.
Commit ourselves to God's care while we sleep, pray in tongues as we drift off.
I had a period of time when I awoke from sleep with a racing heart and feeling very anxious, it happened quite frequently over a period of years, but I learnt to deal with stuff before I tried to sleep, and I have found it much better of late.

Don and Jax are both wise...

I do think sometimes nightmares are a way our brain copes with stress though, as adults.

The troubles we carry around trigger nightmares.

Let go of your worries and the nightmares disappear!!!
They have for me and I had them every single night of my life for months, SC~

Default There are many good replies on here

I just want to make note of the fact that the Bible speaks of dreams given by the Lord in the Old & New Testaments.

Nightmares are disturbing. I agree that prayer is helpful.

I also believe that alcohol consumption, some medicines, delving into witchcraft & the like, having a very ill body, or eating certain foods and herbs can cause nightmares.

Default the mocker is among us

One more bit of mockery -- I am new on this site.

I really thought it was supposed to be a place that would be strictly monitored for friendly Christians.
