12 Days of ChristmasIt is said that the traditional Christmas carol 'The 12 Days of Christmas' was written as a secret tool to teach children the meaning of the Christian faith. From 1558 to 1829 Roman Catholics in England were forbidden from openly practicing their religion. This carol was devised to get the message across without upsetting the Protestants.

This is handy to know! I'm going to write this down and tell it at Christmas before we tear into our presents.
One of my favorite songs this year (they change) is Shrek's 12 Days of Christmas. Shrek's like..."More like the 12 years of Christmas!" because he doesn't want to sing it. Then at the end, Donkey says, "Let's do that again!" And Shrek's like: "Let's not! And just say we did!"

Me too ... When I saw it ,I never knew the meaning of that song and it always got on my nerves. But now I have a different opinion of the song.
