I know this is unbiblical, but I know it as truth as told to me by our Father.

After a person dies, that persons spirit will remain near the physical body for 20 minutes, After 20 minutes, an Angel arrives from Heaven to escort you back to Heaven. Your trip to Heaven will take another 20 minutes. So 40 minutes after your death, you will be with Jesus. This is only if you are Born Again.

And how do you know the exact minutes?

Scripture tells us the answer to this question.

Review 2 Corinthians 5:6-10 (NLT) or 2 Corinthians 5:6-10 (KJV):

Quote:
2 Corinthians 5:6-7

NLT -
6 So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord.
7 That is why we live by believing and not by seeing.
8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.
9 So our aim is to please him always, whether we are here in this body or away from this body.
10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in our bodies.

KJV-

6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight.
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
When we pass on, our earthly flesh body goes back to the earth as dust and our Spiritual body immediately goes back to the Lord who placed it in our flesh body at conception.

We can confirm this from Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 (NLT) or Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 (KJV):

Quote:
Ecclesiastes 12:6-7

NLT -
6 Yes, remember your Creator now while you are young, before the silver cord of life snaps and the golden bowl is broken. Don’t wait until the water jar is smashed at the spring and the pulley is broken at the well.
7 For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

KJV -
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Thank you! I had to express this three times today at the hospital. I have times when I am so drained that I check myself.

The Indians in my tribe believe this...

Once you die, you're prepared for your final journey.

Someone makes you an outfit of all white buckskin. Mocs, traditional regalia. You're placed in a wooden casket (never metal...we believe the soul has problems moving through metal). Songs are sung that celebrate your life, songs giving thanks to the Creator for making you.

On the day of burial, we bury the dead at sunrise. This way, they'll have the entire day to journey. Everybody present throws a bit of soil into the grave, this way we can say goodbye and say that "we" buried the departed.

I don't know why they say it, but at the time of one's death, each person becomes 30-years old. Sometimes, it's said that those who just lost babies are visited by an older person, around 30, who tells them that he/she's going to be alright.

Once buried, the dead travel for the entire day, on foot, before reaching heaven.

There are so many views on this and I really haven't come to an absolute conclusion but I would like to throw some thoughts on the table.

The spirit indeed returns to God but it is the soul that is in question here. So when does a soul come into existance:
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a livingsoul.
The soul of a man, his mind, intellect, will and emotion comes into being when God gives life to the body.

Some believe the soul sleeps and is awakened as the spirit is reunited in a new glorified body. This seems to be the idea conveyed here:
Act 2:25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
Act 2:26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
Act 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Act 2:28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
Act 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
Act 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
Act 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
Act 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Act 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Act 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
David foresaw Christ's bodily ressurection which resulted in His soul( Christ's) going to God at His ascension.

That a soul can die is easily established from Genesis to Revelation:

Rev 16:3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

Then there are those who believe that man's soul is united with Christ at death:

Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Isa 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Perhaps this verse puts it in a better light:
1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
1Co 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
This verse seems to indicate sleep until the ressurection at Christ's return.?
One thing we can say for sure:
"Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die" (Ezekiel 18:4 KJV)

I will be reading this thread and am very interested in the views each has on this subject. Thnaks and blessings, brother Larry

I was given written permission to share this study. There are some things in here I never heard before or noticed when reading the Bible. I guess there is a big difference between reading and studying God's Word.
