The issue is how fast his spirit is going. To slow it down takes a period of time. God will never tell us to do something that gratifies the flesh. We are either in the process of resisting God's truth or in the process of being shaped and molded by his truth. God's flock does not exist for the welfare of the pastors; the pastors are appointed to serve the welfare of the sheep. Whether that entails removing burrs from the wool, cleansing and sanitizing the wounds, helping the ewes bear their lambs, shearing the heavy wool, or feeding and watering them, pastors serve the sheep as their first responsibility.

If our expenditure on comforts, luxuries, amusements, etc., is up to the standard common among those with the same income as our own, we are probably giving away too little.
