There is no mention of looks and other shallow characteristics. Dads and daughters need to rise above that. Ignore the empty things that do not contribute to happy marriages.
Right, so does this rule apply for women too - or do we woman simply have to marry ugly, unromantic men but men, if they are so lucky, can marry beautiful thin women? Read the song of songs, clearly there is a great deal of attraction going on between Solomon and his bride.
What if the daughter never had a dad. ??... like in my case. All of these steps have their" ifs " behind them and that is my point. Also I do not believe in this day and age women have to be little puppets and run behind a man and be talked down to. That is not the North American way. We have a choice to choose our own spouse and not to be told by our dad.

I guess I am reluctant to start new threads because I always feel responsible to "Host" and "Monitor" them. Because of this I usually let others start them. I am basically lazy.

If I do start a thread, I allow enough time to monitor them including extra visits to the thread, all of which is to me an added responsibility and effort - an unwritten committment.

But that is just me - I don't know that there are any "Rules" that require me to play host and monitor the threads that I have started - is there?

Rules or no rules .... I don't know but what I do know is that if we start a thread I think it should be up to that person as politeness to come back and give their opinion and enter into the discussion.

I personally do not want to start something and then run and start something else but I guess that is my preference and I do feel a sense of commitment and responsibility towards what I start.

I also check " instant email notification " so that I can be notified of new posters. and can go back and check what they have said . But then again that is just my policy. every body is different.

Hope this helps and not offends. Blessings ..... Dusty.

Dear Dusty,
Well, I feel that way, but it is up to the administration to set guidelines for posting. I know that it is very easy to go to a site like "Sermon Index" and choose one of their 20,000 sermons as a cut and paste to open a thread. You're right - when you paste and run it doesn't show much ownership.

Oh dear, clearly Daniels you are not reading replies, if you were you would perhaps have not posted the new Aussie women thread after the reactions to the Aussies eating wildcat stew thread.

It is an interesting topic I guess, the need for it on a christian forum, I'm not sure, but it does demonstrate a lack of reading past posts to your threads in my opinion.

Thanks Dusty - I am not worried about this thread, what I think is annoying me is that the person posting the specific country threads does not come from that country - If I personally posted something about Australia, well that would be different.
Daniels, perhaps you have some interesting trivia from your own country?
