How does seeing God as Loving Help You to trust Him ?

Psalm 59:9
9 --- O my Strength, I watch for you;
you, O God, are my fortress,
When I think of some one who is strong, I think of protection. So I think of God, always being there to protect me in the times of trouble. All I have to do is trust and obey.
God is my strength, I am looking to Him because God is my defender.
Any other thoughts.
