Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum. Never been on a Christian forum before. It's good to see. My name is Mark and I'm 17 years old. 18 on December 22nd. Let me start out by saying that I am a believer, saved, but just struggling with the things teens do. I had felt the Holy Spirit long ago, luckily my mother is a very strong Christian woman.

A couple weeks ago I had an experience I'll always remember. I was in my room at night, having a guilty conscience because I planned to buy some alchohol and go out and party the next day. I felt stressed and like I just needed to party.

So my mind was going crazy. I was battling with my spiritual beliefs. I couldn't stop doubting my beliefs, and blaming it all on phycological stuff, justifying the signs and everthing as a logical illusion by my mind. I didn't want to believe that, but it was easiest since it would let me get to sleep without surrendering my intentions to drink.

Finally I said to the Lord to show me some kind of proof, or I just can't be sure. Something more solid. (Really I was lacking patience, I wanted something instant.) I told him if he really exists, turn my bedroom light on. I actually expected it to happen. I got terrified, and started crying. I couldn't sleep at all now. I came to some realizations, and I jotted this down:


"He was there before me.

He knew I wasn't ready to see it.

So he didn't show me what I wanted to see.

He showed me what I needed to see.

The fear of what I wanted to see."


What do you guys think of this?

The Lifehouse: Everything - Skit

It put me to tears. The most amazing skit I've ever seen.


I ask for you guys to pray for me, as I am at the part in that skit, where I'm pushing through my friends (Resisting temptations...etc) to get to God, I just need help realizing how to give all the work to God. Because I know he's offering.

Hi Mark, it is great to have you here. The fear you have is a respectful fear which can only lead to a closer relationship with our Savior. Just remember the flowing of alcohol can lead to death which has happened in many cases, but the flowing perfection of God's Word can lead to Eternal Life.

Hi Mark..... I will have a special place in my heart for you as my son's name is Mark as well. I will be praying for you as I know how hard it is to serve God in this world we live in as there are so many temptations for young people. But if you continue to praise and worship Jesus and follow Him that is what is required and you will never go wrong. You sound as if the Lord is already doing wonderful things in your like .
