Top 10 Reasons Why "They" Chose Dec 25 to Celebrate Christmas
10. Perfect timing after spring trade shows to get product on the shelf. 9. Less outdoor activities to distract consumers from shopping time. 8. Advertising lull between new car intros and superbowl 7. Perfect excuse to justify shopping frenzy after Thanksgiving 6. Thanksgiving alone is not enough to deplete the supply of turkeys grown during the summer and fall. 5. So Christian kids can compete with the Jewish children who are getting Chanukah gifts at this time of year. 4. I'ts a Wonderful Life, The Night Before Christmas and "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" all wouldn't work if it wasn't in winter. 3. Need really short days to maximize enjoyment of outdoor Christmas decorations 2. They only sell eggnog during this time of year 1. ACLU too busy the rest of the year fighting God and our freedom to worship on other fronts so December is the only time they can team up with the Wickans and athiests and attack all things Christian. OR an alternate answer---- Shouldn't we celebrate the birth of Christ and the fact that God sent his only Son to die for us every single day? If so, what difference does it make what day he was actually born on 2000 years ago? As far as I am concerned, Dec 25 is as good as any and it really doesn't matter in the slightest if it is the EXACT day or if He was really born in September or July? Another alternate answer: What's the point of focusing on when Christ was born? Seems to me, when we are focused on this question, we can't be as focused on a more important fact, that He was born. That's what I would rather focus on along with how I can live a more Christ centered life... none of which has any relationship to what day Jesus actually was born. I am sure it's an interesting subject to historians and scholars and don't want to diminish the value of curiosity either... it's just that I know how easy it is for people to get distracted by minutia and in the process to lose sight of other important things.

Jesus always was and forever will be.
No end and no beginning. His birth in the flesh fulfilled prophecy; His death redeemed me from my sins. His resurrection was His glory. Whether on Christmas Day or in April or whenever...He reigns over me, and that's all I needs to know.

April 13, 4 BC is the date my Pastor had heard. There was a convincing article somewhere on the news. I'll have to find it
