So I was playing my usuall online game and I had this party member in my group. We was all talking about the movie National Treasure. And he stated that he was a 32nd Degree Mason. So I sent him a whisper and asked him all sorts of questions. He said that they believe its ok to have the right to believe what ever religion you want to believe. He also claims him self as a christian. He also said that he believes this. I dont believe hes a true Christian because it says in the 10 Comandments that you shall not worship any other Gods. I mean, so this guy believs its ok for someone to worship Lucifer as a God. But he also believes that its wrong and he cant tell him no different. I am totally against what this guy was talking about.
What do you all think about this, Id like to really know what you all say. Last edited by FarsightX3; 11-12-2007 at 01:11 AM. |

Masons or Free Masons as they are sometimes refered to is not a religian, but rather a secular society. Which accounts for the varried beliefs amung them. Some members are christian(or at least claim to be) ,others satanist and others aithiest.
Unlike a cult it is harder to get into the Masonry than to get out. They don't have open membership. They are secretive and have had controversial and questionable activities periodicly over the years. From the outside I would have to say that they are probably not something that a believing christian should be involved with. Sincerely His Cliff |

FarsightX3-
Free Masons are a religion. They foundationally believe in false gods, as did Romans, Greeks, Egyptians etc. They allow other religion believing people into thier group, but very cautiosly, as their main goal, is teaching people, gradually, to believe in and strive for a "one world government". Honestly, it is just as dangerous for someone to leave the Mason's as for anyone who joins, for they are sworn to secrecy and are threatened should they leave, not to share anything of what goes on for topics or activities in thier meetings. Christians can join this "club", if you will, but God clearly dictates what happens to those who walk away fom Him, following false doctrines. God Bless!! |

Yes I know all of this stuff, I was trying to tell this guy and he was thick headed and said they all believe in Christ. I really found that very hard to believe. |

Everyone has a RIGHT to believe whatever they want to believe, however what they are believing may not be RIGHT.

Mason's have to accept one God IIRC.
But as for your argument, there is a difference between having a right, and what is "OK". America was founded on teh belief that we should be able to believe whatever we choose or are called to believe. So yes, we should indeed have the right to worship whatever we want, God or evil, as long as we don't infringe on the rights of others to do the same (no human sacrifices etc). But, it's different for Christians. You can't be a Christian AND serve and worship Satan. The biggest problem I have with secret societies such as the Free Mason's is the whole "secret" part. No matter how I look at it, Christians shouldn't be keeping secrets about our beliefs. Even from a more "general" view, I simply don't trust religions that keep a majority of their beliefs secret.
