In Catholic understanding, a Saint has to work miracles after his death. In Lutheran understanding (I am Lutheran), a Saint is a person who gives a shiny (edit: I don't think "shiny" really fits here - perhaps I should say "glowing"?) example for a responsible, faith-based, christian way of life. He who leads others to the principles of Christianity with all it's duties and privileges is a Saint.
My "favourite" Saint is Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I don't know, if you in America know him? Last edited by Felix; 11-07-2007 at 02:11 PM. |
