I consider myself religious because of my beliefs. I believe in our Father, His son, Jesus, and The Holy Ghost. I also believe in the scriptures, the written word of God. Better still, I practice my beliefs. ---------------- Now playing: BeautifulGOD via FoxyTunes |

I don't consider myself religious. I am more spiritual. I try to do the Word and listen to the Spirit

To my un-saved friends they would answer very religious... To my saved friends they would answer very spiritual...

Although I am a Minister I hate the word religion I call myself Spiritual! when you bring religion into Christianity it seems to bog things down. I guess I see the religion as more of the politics and denominational stuff. I just wish all denominations could get along and respect each other.

When a person asks me if I'm "religious," I have to ask them to tell me what they mean by the term. Most nonchristians don't make a distinction between "religious" and "spiritual." These days, with the prevalence of new age ideas and practices, even the term "spiritual" has to be defined. I rarely can give a simple yes or no; I have to qualify my answer for clarity. I am religious in the sense that I believe fervently in God and all the things in His Word and my behavior reflects my faith.
In some ways its like marriage, to me. The core of a marriage is a relationship between to people. This marriage is formalized through legal documents, a ceremony, wedding rings, name changes, sharing a home, the restriction of certain behaviors to that relationship exclusively. The core relationship is what I think of as "spiritual." The various formalities arise from that relationship and depend on it for meaning. That, to me, is "religion." The religion is only as good as the relationship. All of that to say, why, yes, I guess I am religious. ![]() |

I just love semantics don't you...
no, actually, I hate them any more because they rarely ever do any good or solve any issues, only cloud them more and more and give people excuses to not believe the truth, not percieve the truth, or live in a way that is contrary to the biblical standard. am I religious? yes. |
