Malachi
1:2 I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou
loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

I think there is great signifigance in the fact that Esau was the one who sold his birthright.
As children of God to deny our birthright, is in fact to deny God. In fact I believe that this is the unpardonable sin. To deny God, to Deny the Holy spirit, and to continue to do so, having no regard for Gods gift, and in essence, throwing the gift of salvation away. |

He certainly hates our sin and disobedience.
In essence, wouldn't that lead to hating us? Some of us will be condemned to hell~ I suppose he loves us until the end then he will say to those who denied him to depart from him! |

I have found 5 scriputal references to God hating- two of these refer to Esau which was the result of man trying to fulfill God's promise in his own strenght. Perhaps there is a message there for another day. Truth be known God knows the beggining from the end- He knows who will reject Him. He also raises up ( see Exodus 9:12 - 9:16) some for destruction ( my personal take on this is that He would not do this unless He already knew their heart but I cannot de dogmatic on that point).
H8130 שׂנא śânê' saw-nay' A primitive root; tohate (personally): - enemy, foe, (be) hate (-ful, -r), odious, X utterly. |
