By how you express yourself I believe the Lord has given you this ministry and good will come of it ...

I respectfully and lovingly disagree however, I don't believe that drug addicts, alcoholics, and gamblers are the spiritual breathen of the Lord...

Mary the prostitute gave up her lifestyle to be with the Lord... She is His breathen... The tax collector repented, he is Christ breathen...

Those that repent and come to the Lord how I see it are the breathen...

Because you have been given such a kind, synpathetic heart however you will be rewarded...

Hi Super JAG,

Have to disagree with you ...The various Churches I have and am now attending cares and help the poor in various ways...

My church has a mens and womans prison ministry, they also provide group housing, education and job placement...

My previous church which had much more financial resourses helped the homeless, provided housing, and food to who ever needed it...

They also supported various international ministries
with building of churches , housing, support for the orphans, food, clothing , even a motorcycle and a jeep...

They also provide clothing, food, toys plus a new church at a South Dekota Indian Reservation...

I've never attended a Church that was not invested in their community...

Can you name one you know of???

This was mostly referring to nonChristians. I just don't know on the Christian side of the world...Due to the fact that some "so-called Christians" are a bit too self-willed.

And starving a man isn't going to make it go away either. If he died tomorrow and my dollar could have helped him to live a little longer...that would make me feel all oogy inside.

"Yeah, but..."

Oh, it's my money! You worry about what's in your own wallet and let me give away mine if that's what I earned it for! Yeesh!


Oh Whirlwind , I knew there was a reason why I liked you..... Snicker.... Snicker... besides those fireballs and popcorn..... hmmmm

All kidding aside. that is so true... What I do with my money is between me and God. If I want to give ... I give and visa versa.

If whoever I give to uses that money for things that I don't agree with.... well he is the one who has to be accountable to God not me . I was just being an obedient servant of my Lord and Saviour.

What I like doing sometimes is going downtown and going to some of the parks..... not by myself...And going to Macdonalds and buying a bunch of hamburgers and giving them out. And taking shoes and warm clothes and giving it out.

Didn't the Lord tell us to do this all for His sake. We do not know if someday we might be in that position and then someone would give us a cup of water in Jesus name.

Thank you Beloved for the kind comments. Another thing you have to keep in mind is that I live in the country, so seeing beggars is not an everyday occurance for me. Usually just when I go to the city. If somebody locally is asking for help, it's usually someone I know.

I understand your heart...give to the needy, love the unloved, help the helpless, show Gods love. I'm with you.

And you're right, once you give your money to them, what they do with it is out of your control. But this is where giving responsably is important. Would you feel the same about it if you found out the money was used for an abortion?

Please consider this...if people hadn't supported my grandfathers habit, his great grandchildren may have been able to know him. He died very young...barely 60. None of the people who "helped" him realised that they were helping him to kill himself.

He was walking home drunk. It was after dark, and the car didn't see him fall in the street. The man who hit him is a Christian, and has suffered much anguish at taking a life.

My family was in great turmoil, polarized really. We had those who forgave the man who hit grandpa, and those who wanted to prosecute him for manslaughter.

BTW - the money given to him that morning for food was still in his pocket. He had promised not to spend it on alcohol, so we're certain that he "panhandled" for the money to purchase his whiskey with.

Yes, that's true.....

Sometimes they are babes in the Lord and immature...

THe Father has done miraculous changes in me over the years...

I'm not in any sense the gal I use to be but it did not happen over night ... He was very gentle and patient with me...

Give Thanks to our Holy Father for He is Good...

God might want you to extend his love by offering to baby-sit
for the single parent down the street. He might want you to
prepare a hearty meal for that lonely old man who lost his wife
-- and to sit and visit with him while he eats. Who knows, he
might even want you to reach out and touch the life of a total
stranger in some way you can't imagine right now. Are you
willing to set aside your own comfort to touch someone else with
God's love?
