Eccle 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Quote:
Sin caused grief, pain and death. This earth is cursed until the Lord's return when He makes it new again. Also humanity makes much of it's own trouble as we all make choices. Our choices effect ourselves and others around us going out like ripples in a pond and interacting with the ripples others make.Jesus gives us the hope of a better day: Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. |

The older I get the more I realize that God is really big on "Free Will." He just does not force us to do anything, except to decide whom we will serve. He puts pressure on us to make this decision by letting us do our own thing. He has given us about 70 years to meke this decision. Someday all of humanity will discover how many millions of times he has crossed our paths and tried desperately to influence us in our day to day life here on earth. This is of extreme importance to God as the time is short.
He will not force us to love and serve him - it's strictly voluntary. His mind is revealed in Genesis... Genesis 1:26 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. We're in a mess because we are collectively doing our own thing under the destructive influence of Satan - who is not working in our interest. God steps in when we ask him to - that's the purpose of prayer - to invite him into our situation, which may have been originated by happenstance, Satanic design, our own narcissistic attitude - one or a combination of several or all. He doesn't seem to do anything unless he is asked - by us or someone in our behalf. God does everything in great love and we need to see through his eyes from this perspective. It is very common to hear people say that they do not believe in God because of all the trouble, violence, death, and destruction in the world. It's just the opposite - God is allowing us to do our own thing to bring us to him. If we lived in a perfect and painless garden of Eden in a fallen state we would ALL perish - lost in sin. God puts great pressure on people to search and seek him. Larry II Last edited by Jasher; 11-03-2007 at 05:06 PM. |
