Default What is the difference between being patient and being over tolerant?

If we but pray and ask for discernment we a will always have that answer.

Being patient is having humility and empathy toward others and holding ourselves in love and kindness.
Not judging but understanding and offering our comfort.

Being over tolerant is unfair to yourself and the other(s) involved.
You are sending the message that possibly you don't care how others behave or that you do not expect to be treated in a respectful manner.

AMEN!
Sister, I've lived both with my husband... I equated both to be the same untill recently ...
I see now that I have been blind and my immense patience was actually training my husband on how to treat me by the way I tolerate his negative behavior over and over again...

Yes, there is a BIG difference...

Please youngsters out there, learn the difference...
You are a Child of the Most High God and a member of Christ Kingdom...

Amen , Violet Not much else needs to be said other than there are people and you and I know them, that think if they tolerate all and don't stand up and voice their opinion , they are being patient. Sorry but that lesson I learned the hard way. You are enabling the person or persons and are not helping. Then that person thinks they can use you as a door mat. So what I am saying is there is a fine line between the two.

Woa..... Beloved you and were typing probably at the same time but you are faster than me >>> LOL.

That is exactly what I was trying to say as we teach people how to act towards us and if I had known all that I know today ..... maybe I would still be married. I was tooo soft and patient and I crossed the line.

So like Beloved says all you young please read this and hide these things in your heart so that when the time comes ...... you will not make the same mistakes.

Default having a choice

the difference is that when a person suffers a bad situation, he has no choice but to bear it.
A person that indulges, does so by choice... until it bites...
