Don't set your clocks back an hour this weekend or you'll have
a lot of coworkers laughing at you on Monday morning. This
year the end of Daylight Saving Time doesn't take effect until
2 a.m. the first Sunday in November, instead of the last Sunday
in October. That's Sunday, Nov. 4th, NOT October 28th.

Yup.... I knew that , cause there was a lot of controversy over that issue here..... whether to follow the U S. and we gave in and are following you guys. We are little puppy dogs anyways and always do what you guys do. LOL.... Don't get me wrong that's not a bad thing.

For those in the USA that have a cable TV system or broadcast antenna system for your TV viewing and have a Public Broadcasting System station in your local area, they have done it again!

PBS stations send out a time of day signal burried in the VIT area (Vertical Interval Test ) of the composite video signal. VIT is that black bar at the very bottom or top of your screen that you can see if your set still has a "verticl Hold" control and the picture can be made to 'roll'.

The PBS engineers seem to have forgotten to deprogram the transition from Daylight Time to Standard Time for their system Normally, that would not be a major issue HOWEVER - since the vast majority of VCR's produced since 1994 use that time signal in the VIT to set and maintain the VCR's time-of-day clock, anyone waking up today who has a VCR and who is near a PBS station will have a 1 hour error in their VCR time of day display.

If you are a victim of this nationwide plot to mess up your Sunday - just go into your VCR menu and set the clock MANUALLY until next weekend.

Let's hear it for the complacency of the PBS system and their staff.
