Default .

in the beginning God created eve for adam so he wouldn't be alone, & for reproduction.
however this world is overpopulated now & as long as you have God & loved ones in your life you don't always have to have a soulmate.
I think we are not always provided a soul mate.

Where 2 are brought together by God, they become one flesh and neither will distract or weaken the other's walk with God.
They will encourage and strengthen each other, spiritually~

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior so are the children's of one's youth.

Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
Psalm 127: 3-5

1 Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me:
It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. 3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6 But I say this as a concession, not as a commandment. 7 For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that. 8 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am; 9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion. Keep Your Marriage Vows.
I love this passage of scripture! Not to change the subject, but when my husband and I married almost 11 years ago, we took this passage a little further to where we used the authority we have over each other's physical bodies to stand in the gap in time of illness for healing! It has worked many times, especially with me, because I have asthma and my husband has stood in the gap for me many times and took authority over my body when I didn't even have the strength to move, let alone pray for myself. Anyway, to put my 2 cents in about "soul mates", I truly believe that to be true, from my own experience. However, since there is no scriptural evidence about it, I believe it to be something the Lord does on an individual basis, but He does put people together, especially for them to fulfill His purposes as a couple. In my case, the story of how my husband and I met can be read under the private discussions in the Marriage forum, and I believe one of the Lords purposes for putting my husband and I together was so that we can adopt these 2 little girls, but again, this is on individual basis, not as a rule and not for everyone! I truly believe that if you are looking for a soul mate you can 100% trust God to provide him or her! I don't believe there are set rules for marriage, as you can see in the fact that Paul does not say he has those advices from Jesus but from his own experience. The only solid biblical proof that I can come up with is in Genesis where God did provide a wife for Adam in the person of Eve and she was meant as a help meat, a companion and a lover for him, not someone under his feet! I thought I throw that in there! Any who, trust God and if you're looking He will provide your souls mate!
