We are on the verge of seeing a major middle eastern conflict and maybe a world war- I think I will wait a while on that trip!

As I mentioned to someone else in another part of the forum awhile ago:

As much as people would like to see the cradle of Christianity first hand, it is NOT recommended that anyone from Western countries do that trip at the moment. Colleagues of ours did that trip just about a year ago, dispite warnings from the State Department, and had both Israeli Military and private armed security forces with them at all times. The militant Islamic factions would just love to hijack a tour bus full of westerners and use them as propaganda - before they are all killed while being broadcast live on the Al Jazeera Network.

While you may have a calling to go to the Holy Land, you also have a responsibility to yourself and to your family to remain safe so you can continue to do God's work. You can't do that if you are the victims of an activist Islamic jihad and parts of you and your family are scattered over a 1 block area.

Anyone considering this trip, please reconsider your options.

It woulld be great to visit Israel and stand on the Mount of Olives where it all happened, but my first choice would be to go to Ephesus as there are a lot of ruins remaining there.
