Interesting as that would be as a matter of curiosity, it could have no virtue. It would have been far more grand to be present and to walk with Him when He was upon earth. But even then His words were, “The hour cometh when ye shall neither in this mountain nor yet at Jerusalem worship the Father.” Where*ver men worship in Spirit and in truth, they are in the personal presence of God.

It is a blessed thing that one does not have to go to Jerusalem to walk in the footsteps of Christ he can do it right where he is; and even more, he can walk side by side with the Saviour, all the time, for the promise is “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” End Quote

" ... For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children--but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all" (Galatians 4:25, 26). Prophetic Indeed!

Blessings in Christ,
John

Amen! What you posted is very true and a blessing to the heart. Yes! Yeshua does walk with us and beside us. Have you ever noticed that when you check your footprints as you walk through the mud or the rough areas of this world that the footprints appear to be deeper? This is because He is "carrying" us through the rough times.
Brother in Christ,
Tom

The mud thing, that's a great metaphor! That's going on my list of illustrations. May God continue to encourage you. And may we continue to encourage and instruct each other.

blessings in Christ,
John

Dear John ( and it's not the dear john that you were expecting...... just kidding )That's the silly part of me coming out. LOL

Anyways to get back to what you were saying yes it is true but for me it has been a life long dream to go to Israel. It is not because Jesus does not walk with me day by day but I suppose for me it is that I want to see the birth place of my Lord and I feel that my faith would be strengthened to go to all the places that the Bible talks about. and actually see them for myself. I guess for me it is a visual conception in order to understand more of the history of the country. That's the travel bug inside of me as I have always loved to travel. That is the last place on my list as have seen a lot over the years so that's my story.

I also understand what Pastor Gary is saying but believe in the protection of the Lord and if He wills me to go next year ... Nov., I will be going but a lot could happen in the Middle east between now and then. It is a group that I trust called Bridges For Peace and I am personal friends with the president who has been doing the tours for many years. But then again that is a personal thing and not every one agrees.

Hi Dusty,

You're funny, .... now when my wife calls me "John Dear," I ask her why she is calling me a tractor! lol.

Hey Dusty, I have been to Israel and it's grand that anyone should go, I hope your prayer is answered and you'll be able to walk where Jesus walked. I understand and hope you have a blessed time! It's just the idea most will never get there. And that's ok too. God is just as near to them, no matter where they are geographically.

John

p.s. I will say that I do not believe that literal Israel will be saved at last, the Bible makes this clear, but it is those who have the faith of Abraham. All Israel will be saved, those who are over comers in the Lord. Spiritual Israel is not opposed to Literal Israel. Spiritual Israel is opposed to carnal or the flesh. Isaac was spiritual, but very literal. A fantastic study, perhaps a thread in the making.

Good idea. I would be interested. That's funny "John Deer " Good for your wife. Actually, remember when people wanted to break up they sent a dear john letter ? Maybe not you're too young for that.

Hi Dusty,
I knew what you're saying. Have been married for 22 years, but in my dating time in my early twenties, did not date very much and was in my late twenties before getting married.

The little dating I did, no one ever sent me a "dear John" letter, they just dumped me!! lol

Perhaps I'll start a thread "Literal and Spiritual Israel." Of course I started only one so far on the Covenant question, but I believe it's so misunderstood and "seemingly difficult," which it is not, that people stay away from the subject. Oh, but what a powerful blessing, it has great significance for the children of God, especially pertaining to these last days. Sadly, many will be deceived for the deliberate rejection of the truth of the two covenants.

Oh well, my wife wants me to take her out to eat, talk to ya later.

John
