Accountable


Jesus said to his followers, "Once there was a rich man. This
rich man hired a manager to take care of his business. Later,
the rich man learned that his manager was cheating him. So he
called the manager in and said to him, 'I have heard bad
things about you. Give me a report of what you have done with
my money. You can't be my manager now!'"

KEY THOUGHT:
In an age where feelings and intentions are given greater value than
behavior, Jesus' teaching on being held accountable for our actions
seems harsh to many. However, Jesus wants his disciples to know that
his work in the lives of men and women involves the transformation of
character. Character involves not only doing the right things, but also
doing them for the right reasons and with the right intentions.

One may sharpen another, but you have to get close enough to let 'sparks' fly. It implies openness, honesty, vulnerability, and a willingness to accept constructive feedback.

The Lord accepts my mediocrity, but prefers my excellence. Suring the quieter times in life, I was set to task on a small and devotional activity of watercolor paints. It seemed a likely activity to fill the silent time in my life. The Lord took that time and transformed the work. TO do our best always, so we will be good and faithful servants. What we see as important should be anything for which the Lord sets us to task.

Lord I see too many blunt edges in my life. Sharpen me that I might be a useful tool to your hands.....Amen
