Default Temptation

Just wa thought-The world can only tempt you thru your five sense- sight, smell, taste and touch. satan may use one or all of these and may try to plant the seed of ungoodly thoughts in your head.

I think you can also be tempted through your emotions. For example, I have been tempted on many occasions, through my feelings of anger due to my current situation with my wife, to do bad things for revenge. I am fortunate to have a couple of good friends and a loving God to keep me from doing so.

Matthew 6:13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. '

Matthew 26:41
"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

1 Corinthians 10:13 (English Standard Version)
"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

The presence of temptation is always uncomfortable for me.
I feel a genuine relief when I resist and pluck out my eye (so to speak).

Matthew 18:8-10 (English Standard Version)

8 And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.
