Default The Internet Ministry

Hey

How powerful do you believe the internet ministry can really be?

I am really getting this understanding of just how powerful it is and how we can take it for granted and overlook a powerful tool.

Imagine Paul with a laptop. Awesome.

Im just begining to think about this. Paul with a laptop? He could have just sent emails to the church rather than travelling all the way. Hmmmm... i think its good he didnt have one.
If he were to use the internet, I think Paul would have wisely used the internet and would have send his letters to all the world in no time. Yes internet ministry is as powerful, if exploited wisely.
Stacie's right, we do have a powerful tool. But how far can we use it?

btw thats a wonderful topic. :-k

I belive if it is shown and presented in the right way (like CFS) internet ministry can work great. Especially for teeenagers who arent very willing to talk in person or even go to church. They can go online and find hope and understand better what Christ has done for them.

We can use it up to the point where people start to doubt more and more..when people refuse to witness to the younger generations and the whole thing goes down the drain. Sorry it's kind of a hard concept to accept because it may not be presently happening.

It can go a long way but I don't think it can replace the physical gathering of believers. Human touch can do wonders for people. A Hug or a personal smile can show God's love in amazing ways.

I always think about how the Bible says in the end times the Gospel will be spread all over the world.
Besides churches, human witnessing and missionaries, isn't the WWW the ultimate tool for that?
Unlike T.V., we can interact with one another.

I think the internet is wonderful tool for encouraging believers and sharing amongst believers. It will be a wonderful alternative to all the filth that is on the internet. As for using the internet to share the gospel, if we all have webcams and speakers on computers, it will be wonderful. Sad thing, not all of us have them and because of that it will not be as affective as it ought to be.

God can use any means to knock at somebody's heart. He is the one who has the power.

Yeah I think that's about the limit of the internet. It's a good way to keep in touch with people outside of your physical locale, but it shouldn't be used as an impersonal substitute for real life interaction.

You might have heard of the 'One Laptop per Child' mission: http://www.laptop.org/en/vision/index.shtml
These laptops are prices at $100 and are to be distributed to children all over the work. This July Intel joined the program and very soon the whole world will be fully connected. The Gospel can and will be spread to every corner.
