Question Regarding commandments

Hi there,

I’m new to Christianity and I have started to follow Christ since this year.

I have a couple of questions about the commandments:

The most of the commandments says about the things that we are not allowed do. E.g. We cannot lie. If we lie, we can lie either verbally or by writing. But what if some one planned to lie (in his head) to some one? Would this be a sin?

Sometimes people swear at other people for the things that they do to hurt others. I know swearing is not a good thing to do. But it’s not included in the Ten Commandments (except that we cannot use the god’s name when we swear). Therefore:

- If I swear at some one from a verbal language / written language will that be a sin?
- Some times we don’t like to swear at people verbally or in writting. But we swear at them in our head. Would this be a sin?

cheers

Do the following and don't worry about the rest you will already have done them:

Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mar 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Default focus

I keep hearing people talking about sin. when we focus on sin we are sure to sin. we are to be God co·con·scious. Jesus dealt with Sin past , present and FUTURE on the cross. Often times people try to complicate it. God loves us. 36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? matthew 22

37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets
if you focus God ward you will be just fine. don't get caught up in focusing on being perfect. you cant

Christianity isn't about following some list of rules. It's about a relationship with Christ. We have each been issued a conscience...use it.

God prophesied through Jeremiah that the Law would be written onto our hearts, and that came in the form of the Holy Spirit. Listen to the Spirit, read the word, let him guide you and you will not fail
