In response to Kathy Griffin's insulting comments, the Miracle Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee has taken out an ad in USA Today to stand up for Christ. They are also gathering signatures. To add you name and stand up go to http://www.miracletheater.com/

I don't agree with Kathy's remark (it took me a little bit of digging to find out exactly what she said). I find it horrible that any human being would ever say such a thing...I myself could never think of doing that.
But...Kathy has the god-given right of free will. She has the right to chose her own god, and she made her decision apparent. As a Christian and a sinner myself, I have to realize that this woman has a brain of her own. If I sign a petition or force Kathy to apologize for her remark, then I'm telling the woman what to believe. When she doesn't apologize and ignores my petition, I might become angry because she isn't wearing the same sunglasses that I'm wearing, and the color of her world is different from mine. I can walk up to her and snap her glasses in half and give her the same type of glasses that I'm wearing as a replacement...but what good is that? As Christians, we shouldn't force anybody to believe in what we know is true. We shouldn't become angry over other people's beliefs. God doesn't condone anger, period. Nothing that we say can ever justify our anger in God's eyes. Once again, the bible isn't there to teach us how we should be making sure other people are living their lives...the bible is there for us to learn, it's there to guide us into our own salvation. No matter what Kathy has said, whether she has apologized or not, we're supposed to forgive her and love her. We're no better than her, we're sinners...all of us. We have no right to judge Kathy, her judgement will come from our God in His own good time. God bless. James 1:19-20 |

I respectfully disagree!
Whenever someone insults Christ or God, I do become angry as I take it to heart, very personally!!! Would you not become angry if someone said something mean about your mother or child? It is human nature. Yes, even Jesus became angry when His Father was disrespected! I will not back down or be ashamed to stand up for Christ and I believe this is more what this petition is all about! I don't even know the woman, as I don't watch TV. I only know what she said and THAT is what I am against! It did come from her mouth though and she has to be responsible for what she says. Sorry, but we have no rights when it comes to blaspheming Christ or GOD! |
