Bible Denominational Perspectives On Major Doctrines

DENOMINATIONAL PERSPECTIVES ON MAJOR DOCTRINES

This is a great chart that shows each of the Denominations views on major Doctrines. I could not figure out how to post it the file was too large and the url wouldn't upload so I had to just hyper link it. I hope you enjoy this.

That's a good link, thank you

I guess it makes this forum Baptist:

By a coincidence I recognized the page immediately both because of the colors and because I had just looked at it this morning. It is two pages from the book "Holman book of Biblical Charts, Maps, and Reconstructions."

Good book - has a lot of information in it.

Default Salvation

May God be with you.

There are some mistakes in the chart as it concerns Catholic Doctrine and Dogma. I will list each separately.

The Catholic view of Salvation is that it is by the Grace of God alone. We are then called to respond to this Grace through the gift of Faith and works.

God bless you!

Default Baptism

May God be with you.

Sacraments, of which Baptism is the first administered, are physical signs, imparting invisible Grace instituted by Christ.

Baptism is a Sacrament instituted by Christ to absolve one of the stain of original sin. It is required as stated by Christ for salvation.

Once baptized, the baby, child or adult are welcomed and become a part of the family of God.

The signs of Baptism are water and the Holy Spirit. A person is baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

I offer this just to correct the chart which is wrong...not to start a debate.

God bless you.

Default The Lords Supper

May God be with you.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Catholic Faith. Celebration of the Eucharist in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass re-presents Christ's ONE sacrifice to us. We are there at the supper, at the foot of the Cross and at the Resurrection.

The bread and wine, while maintaining the outward appearance of bread and wine BECOME Christ's Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. We become united in the most intimate way for a short time. We become living tabernacles.

It is too bad the people who put the chart together did not bother to ask a priest or read the Catechism of the Catholic CHurch!

God bless you.

Default The Bible

May God be with you.

The Bible is inerrant but not the sole rule of faith or the only deposit of faith. Even in John it states that the Bible does not contain everything. Jesus never said to write down His teaching but go out and preach it.

So for Catholics the Bible is extraordinarily important as is the Apostolic Traditions handed down through the centuries through the infallible teachings on faith and morals of the successors of Peter and the Magesterium.

Again, this is what my Church Believes and what I believe. The chart had some of it right but I thought you might find it interesting to know the whole truth.

God bless you.
