![]() I went outside at 2:30am and the stars were magnificent. It must be the cold temps but the stars sparkled like gold diamonds! It was amazing. I am sitting near the window and it is so cold that my fingers are frozen! I think the very hot days are long gone now. It makes me want to cozy up the house for winter. Today my plans are to see how much I can get rid of that we don't need, want or use anymore. And a big pot of chili sounds so good for supper tonight! What are your plans today? |

14 to 16 hours of Rectory office work today including carefully watching another developing tropical system in the western Atlantic.
Some two way radio maintenance for our Chaplain Responder Team, formatting our weekly Chapel Inspirational Message for bulk mailing tomorrow and excercising our Black Labrador Retriever, 'Spot', as part of his on-going rehabilitation from last November's injuries. In other words, just a 'normal' day here in the Chapel office.

According to our statistics database, this is a bit abnormal but not unusual.
Now if you ask 'global warming activists' about the cold temperatures in the northern latitudes, they would just turn away and not say anything...LOL.

I LOVE winter... can't wait for it...
Got in my car this morning at 59o, it was great... although getting the Windows cleared was a little difficult. Priase God, the winter is coming though. Chili sounds GREAT right now... send some this way if you don't mind... how do you make your chili?

Pastor Gary, is weather a hobby of yours or one of your jobs? I am curious.
I just love weather.Violet, we aren't having cold weather yet. Rainy and low to mid 80's this week..... but it is nice! I love this type of weather. My day today.... De-stressing on-line, homeschooling the kids, playing with them, doing my own schoolwork (finals this week, which brings me lots of stress), and all the other normal home things-- cooking, cleaning, etc. I am going to scramble up some eggs for lunch. Mmmm. I like warm, buttery scrambled eggs. Sometimes I put things in them-- mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, etc. Today just plain. I Don't know yet what I'll make for dinner. Maybe later I will become inspired. I Might make curried rice with chicken and garbanzo beans. It's one thing that the entire family loves when I make it. ![]() For anyone interested..... I get a pot and throw in 3 cups of chicken broth, approx. 2 tsp. garlic powder, 1 tbsp. curry powder (or more...not sure on the garlic and curry because I really do not measure when I add them), 1 can of garbanzo beans (drained if necessary). Let that simmer for about 20 minutes with the lid on. Then add 1 1/2 cups rice, and chopped up pre-cooked chicken. Then let simmer until the rice is cooked. I serve it with a green vegetable on the side. |

Sounds good, lemme know when you make it, might come over... My wife doesn't like beans so I'll probably never make it. I love food, expecially trying new foods... Yummmm....
