I'm having a lot of trouble dealing with the reality of hell. I come from a Jewish family. I myself have become a messianic Jew, but most of my family is Jewish. Does this mean that nearly all of them are going to hell? My grandparents, my father, my cousins, aunts, and uncles?
They're all stubborn, I know. They believe in Judaism simply because it's what they've been brought up to believe, not because they truly wanted to search for God. Others are just not religious, it's not important to them in their life. Despite this horrible sin of ignoring God, I still see that they are good people. They don't deceive or steal or lie (maybe a tiny bit here and there). I know we are all sinners, that we all do bad things. But this is an eternity in hell. What happens if after a million years in hell they truly want to be with God and are truly sorry? Why is there no second chance after we die? Do we just assume that if they never felt like accepting Jesus into their life, that they never will for the infinity years they are suffering in hell? Often times it's too hard for me to believe that a caring God would not give these misguided people a second chance to come to heaven when they have suffered for so long in hell? Won't they ever learn the error of their ways and repent and long for God's grace? |

May God be with you. As a Catholic, I believe in God as a merciful and loving God. He puts within each of us through the Holy Spirit a yearning to know Him. While it is true that Christ is our Saving Lord, it is possible that there may be peoples who don't know Jesus, but who live their lives in a Godly way. God being merciful will not turn away. But you must pray for your family and in a gentle, kind and loving way, evangelize to them at every opportunity...and sometime even talk!!!! Being Christian is not just in what we say but it is ALWAYS in how we live our lives. Be an example. Always share the truth. Christ also said that mothers may be against fathers etc. So you and your family may become divided. That would be sad but you have Christ! God bless you and keep praying!!!!!

Let me say this first. No man knows who will be going to Heaven, and who will be in hell. I will not lie to you. Jesus did tell us that the ONLY way to eternal life is through him. The Jews ARE Gods chosen people. But they deny Jesus. Does this mean that they are going to hell? I believe so, for now. I say for now, because there is still hope for them. They haven't gone into eternity. If they are still alive after the Lord calls us into the clouds, there is still hope. Revelations tells us this. I'd like to be nice and tell you that they are definately not going to hell, but that is not true.

God has a special plan for His People, the Jews. However I know that He doesn't exclude them from Hell if they don't accept Christ. Maybe your calling is to bring those of your family to His Love and accept Christ? Maybe you're meant to plant seeds?
I can't presume to know what your calling is, but at the very least you can pray for them.

"Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved." (Romans 10:1)
"I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means!" (Romans 11:1) "Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fulness bring!" (Romans 11:11-12) "I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved." (Romans 12:25-26) "For God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you. For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all." (Romans 11:29-32) God has a plan for Israel, one day all Israel will call out for the Messiah, and Jesus Christ will return and redeem his people and all others who believe in him. Hope this helps. |

Learis there is one thing I learned- never give up on anyones salvation- you don't know if they will get saved on their last breath - you do not know who God will palce in their path- this is something we must trust God for- keep praying!

Thanks everyone. I don't know what will happen when we all die, if my family will go to hell or not. But I do see goodness in them, and I have faith that they would be willing to accept Jesus if it is made known to them. I won't lose hope that Jesus will soften their hearts, and I'll do what I can to respectfully explain to them how I feel.
