What really puzzles me is the fact that even though in that horrible time of need people banded together and called on the only One true living God, now, as a nation, we seem to be forgetting again about Him! Here we are, 6 years later and there is already talk of taking bibles out of hospitals and hotels, putting disclaimers in front of the bible to "warn" people what they are about to read is fiction, etc., etc. I wonder... How many more "9-11's" does this nation need until we are all awaken to the truth. I am in no way saying God was responsible for the 9-11 tragedy, but I am saying that this nations is putting itself in harm's way by slapping down the hand of God! I honestly believe that before the end there will be a spiritual war of extraordinary proportions between the children of God and the children of darkness. The bible does say that were sin abounds grace does that much more abound and as wickedness increases in these last days so will righteousness and the power of God! Personally, I think it will be something to behold!

An old proverb " there are no atheists in a fox hole" , early missionaries to China called this type of person a "rice bowl christian" because they only showed up when in need of something- a sad testimony indeed!

Simply because they either don't want to pay the price of freesom or because they don't want to face up to the fact that radical islam is at war with the rest of the world- if you bury your head in the sand they will not go away-

This was an awful time for me - my Grandpa was dead and we were attending his funeral. We were so poor back then, we had no car and didn't know where we were going to eat. We caught a ride back to the reservation for the funeral, and the family was divided on who was mourning Grandpa the most. Every time we turned on the radio, it was 9-11 news constantly. I felt like the world was ending.
But back in the city, when I was waiting for the bus, I noticed that people were saying please and thank you. There was no longer a mixture of colors on the bus (white, black, Indian, Native American, chinese, etc.) there was only Americans. People were handing out free ribbons and crosses at the intersections. Church parking lots were full. I myself put on a traditional ribbon shirt and stood at an intersection and waved the American flag for a long time, well past dark, and by the time I went home the intersection was filled with people waving the flag and cars going by were honking their horns. The air felt soft, like comfortable cotton. You could feel God's presence in everything. Everybody in the world seemed to be scared, not just me. Everybody in the world seemed to be sad, not just me. We were all sharing something. People were nicer to each other. We had all been hurt, and we all knew it. The terrorists had tried to tear us apart, but they failed miserably. What they did was the exact opposite. They brought us all together, closer to one another...and in some cases, closer to God. Some of us don't have to be reminded, because some of us will never forget. God bless. |

I find it sad that America decides to forget our past, either as if it never happened or that it doesn't matter.
It is really sad that we have forgotten our roots, the very things that made us a nation of hope, we have turned into a nation of sadness. Although it is hard for me to say what I posted above, it hurts my heart that we are allowing multiple things against God to ocurr with no consequence. Abortion, oppression of rights, law suits based on opinions, multiple others things that should be going on... yet they continue. America had a wake up call... 9/11... and yet we have fallen asleep so soon... like the desiples as Jesus asked them to watch and pray in the garden... America is like those desiples, fallen asleep after we've been asked to watch and pray... God bless, Johnathan
