What does the Bible say about suicide? Your thoughts?

One way ticket straight to Hell!
  1. God has a great plan for your life. God has created us in His image (Genesis 1:26-27). He created us for a purpose. God has a specific plan in mind for everyone.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
  2. God's plan is for life, not death. The Bible teaches that both physical and spiritual death are the result of our sin and disobedience to God, but eternal life is a gift to those who receive it.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).
  3. Jesus taught that death and destruction are the work of “the thief” (Satan). He said,
The thief comes only to steal and destroy (John 10:10).
John 8:44 says that Satan is a “murderer” and the “father of lies.” The feelings of despair that lead to suicide are caused by some of his lies.
  4. Jesus wants us to have life. He said:
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10).
  5. Life belongs to God. It is never our place to take our own life or someone else's life.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Please refer to Deuteronomy 19:10-13 (KJV) regarding PREMEDITATED HOMICIDE.

That is exactly what suicide is - the pre-planning of one's own demise.

It is the deliberate murder of one of God's children... how to YOU think God feels about that?

God has a plan for each of us and when persons can not deal with life's issues, refuse to speak with God about it and kills themselves, God, in my opinion, weeps... because the plan that he had for them is meaningless and one more of his children, that could have gone on to great things, will now be judged instead, as a murderer.

There is only one unforgivable sin...and I don't think suicide is it.

Matt12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Hardly, what I'm saying is that I've never read in the scripture that suicide is an unforgivable sin.

Now, consider, if you died at this very instant is there some sin that you haven't confessed, no matter how small or tiny, that if not confessed will bar your entry into eternity with God?

There are different understandings of scripture, I know the Catholic folks have listed some particulars on the nature of mortal vs. veinal sin based on this:

1John5: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

...and by their understanding of Church Tradition believe that suicide is one of the "sins unto death", maybe so~but just looking at the Bible I'm not seeing it.

SIN is SIN! Sin is exactly what sepreates is from God. How are we that we can decide when it is okay to end life??? God gave us life he created each and everyone of us in his image. Suicide is no different from abortion both thoughts are caused by sin and we all know the wages os sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. If you kill yourself I garantee you wont be in heaven! It worries me that christians are justifying or even trying to make excuses for it

In many cases, suicide is the end result of mental or emotional illness. If one is not in control of his/her faculties, the free will to commit sin is NOT there. I prefer to leave the final judgement to the ALMIGHTY.

Suicide is a trick of the devil's to destroy us and take away our gift of salvation. I am not questioning someone who is truly mentally ill, which CAN be a physical illness.
Fight satan all the way! Jesus' name has the power to do this! We only have to believe because the Bible says there is power in no other name!
