Bible

I agree with MrJim and Michael. I believe most people who committ suicide are not in the proper state of mind. Most are mentally ill and I don't believe a just, merciful, God would put a person in hell who is mentally sick. I think it would depend on the state of mind and/or heart of the person. I don't think it's right to say that "ALL" who committ suicide are going to hell. But, I wouldn't want to chance it. Especially for a Christian to committ suicide. There are a small number of people who have committed suicide for reasons that had nothing to do with life threatening illness, or mental instability. Those are the ones whom I would be afraid for. As MrJim said earlier, I don't believe it's an unpardonable sin, and the scripture he provided proves it.

Suicide is a pure waste of what little time we have here on Earth.

There is also another thought that came to me on this subject. One may be too mentally ill to be send to Hell for having committed suicide, while on the other hand suicide may rush him into judgement and Hell for sins committed prior to the mental illness.
