Living Beyond Your Past - Page 2

Last week I received a birthday card from a friend.
This is the wording on the front of the card.

"I was regretting the past and fearing the future.
Suddenly, the Lord was speaking:
'My name is I am.'
He paused. I waited. He continued,
when you live in the past with its mistakes and regrets,
it is hard.
I am not there.
My name is not I WAS.
When you live in the future, with its problems and fears,
it is hard.
I am not there.
My name is not I WILL BE.
When you live in this moment,
it is not hard. I am here.
My name is I AM.' "

This is something I am struggling with very much.

the card is ok but it depends what your friend asks from you.be wise because evil is.

I loved that truly liberating message Dusty!
I have a sister who takes great delight in bringing up all the things I did when I was a child in front of the rest of the family,
of course she did nothing wrong and was always the 'victim'!
I find it immensley difficult, but I am starting to fight back with the Word, I no longer say 'things that could be seen as retalitory, I just say 'isnt the forgiveness of God wonderful that He removes our sin, not just forgives it', or I say Yes the Blood of Jesus has washed me completely clean.
I wouldnt mind so much if what my sister remebered was accurate, but it is hugely exaggerated, and very one sided, and of course she was a perfect child!

Good for you Jax. You have the right attitude and maybe she will get the message. But probably if her ears are not open to the truth... it will just fly by her.

Oh and I guess that big son's wedding is getting very close. Hope you have a nice day for it .... weather wise.

Friday is my big day as I fly to Vancouver and then take a ship and sail for 7 days to Alaska. Will tell you all about it. Hope I can learn how to post pictures here on the site.
