What does God want to do for you?

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

God made man in His own image- God is tripartate- Father, Son, HolySpirit- if this scripture holds true then man is also tripartate as is easily demonstrated in scripture

1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

a new spirt is given to you, communion with God's Spirit is now possible as isthe power to walk in His will-

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

a new body is given you-

1Co 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

So what is Jesus in the business of saving- your soul (mind ,will, intelect, emotions)-basicly that is the distinct personality tyhat makes you who you are and that person is precious to Him

Heb 10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Jas 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1Pe 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
1Pe 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Amen to that- I am only 50 but I can barely walk right now- I am convinced it is not the years but the mileage that counts!

As prophesied in these scriptures we are given anew spirit ( life force) this is our inner man and is just like Jesus
Eze 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
Eze 11:20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Eze 18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

the new man is like Christ
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

This is the call we each recieve-to walk in the newness of spirit-

walk after (follow) the Spirt
Rom 8:1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Walk in the Spirit
Gal 5:16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Live in the Spirit
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

All you all are just spring chickens. Wait till you get to my age.

I am trying to keep up by going to the gym but have to push myself to go. The old bones are creeky in the morning but you know ..... thank God for every day cause He gives me the strength to carry on.

Hee Hee! I'd like one too after having my first two children after the age of 40!!! But, I'll be grateful and just keep what I've got!

Dear Catholicwifeandmom,

May God be with you also!

I am very grateful for the body God has blessed me with. I have an 8 year old son so I'm always cycling, running, swimming...I'm younger than I was 15 years ago, before he was born, he keeps me young. My son also teaches me so much about simple faith, oh to have the faith of a little child. They worry about nothing and everything is provided.

Awesome Don! I am currently disabled but my kids don't mind pulling their dad along and we have some awesome times togeather- what a gift from God!
