Unconventional,
It is not an issue for me because I minster in a "home church". This is an institutional church issue. However, I would like to chime in on this ,for what it's worth. What you describe in your first post is a life style and or the attire associated with a lifestyle / religian that is arguably counterdictory to Christianity. This would and should get some reaction from any knowledgable Christian. I've known a few (mostly teens ) who are into this (Goth). I cannot understand the fasination with it except that it does attract attention or the persons are actualy into the black arts. In either case it seems to me that those who insist on dressing this way shouldn't expect unquestioned, inconditional acceptance. Any attire that destracts noticably from the purpose of the gathering should be avoided. I would think that if one truely wants to fellowship in Christ they would be willing to forgo their favored mode of dress to do it. With that being said; Many "Christians" are way over board on matters of appearance especialy when it comes to church. Sincerely His Cliff |
