my church friend ulla, has no longer spoke about whatever feelings she had for me, she sits with some of her friends in the church instead of next to me and my wife now. its been about a month and we still work together on church projects and we act as we did before she let it known her feelings for me. right after she spoke to our preacher, she had a long talk with me, and stated that her mother left her father for an older man, about the same age difference as she and i. if i were single, this would be a dream come true, but i am happily married and in 9 days we will celebrate 12 years of marriage. my preacher has called it a family curse and it needs lots of prayers to be healed. ulla's mother left her husband, but the other man never left his wife, but eventually the other guy got tired of the affair and broke it off, thus having her mom alone, and bitter, lost her husband and boyfriend, but for the life of me, i cannot understand ulla, wanting to go down the same path.... a lesson should have been learned here. i pray to the lord, that ulla's heart will be healed. i feel sad, for her pain. this may sound like a silly request, but i ask anyone who feels the need ,to pray that the love ulla has for me will die.

With all due respect to your pastor, to suggest that this is uncommon or under the infuence of some curse is dangerous. For it is neither. But rather an ignorance or oversite of biblical principle that allows for a single woman to be close phyisicaly, spiritualy or emothionaly to married men in the congregation. Actualy it is a common problem with very serious concequenes.. So much so that the Apostle Paul eluded to it concerning young widows in the church.
No man or woman reguardless of faith is comepletely immune to that temptation under such circumstances. It is by God's grace (for all of you and the church at large) that you did not fall to the temptation that had already taken the young lady. It would be in the best interest of your congregation to examine the factors in this incident and see if there are any others who might be in danger of the same temptation. Actualy this is a good reminder for all Christians to take a look at the dangerous situations lurking within their own congregations.
