It has been my priviledge for almost twenty years to minister to the wounded birds in God's church- there are a few things I would like to share:
1. Look for roadsigns- if you are stressed, worried, fearful, burnt out, irritable and just plain tired all the time each and every one of these is a symptom of the same two problems- the first is not spending enough time with the One who makes all things beautiful the second is trying to please God in your own strength- you will always fall short In my observation this is the leading cause of condemnation, failure and misery in the average chrsitian today- many a soul has spent countless hours hearing how he should measure up and after much striving and honest evaluation many such souls wind up shipwrecked and spiritually destitute -but don't worry there is a cure: TOTAL DEPENDANCE ON GOD- God is most glorified when we can't but He can thru us- He loves the foolish and the weak ( like me) because such people cannot take the credit or the glory when He uses them- let no flesh take glory in His presence but yield your heart totally to His wonderful Spirit and watch your walk with Him began to bloom- it is a beautiful thing to walk His way- this is a place of refreshing, joy, peace and fulfilment- lets take that walk togeather with Him! May God's joy be the strength of your life- your brother Larry |

Thanks, Bro. Larry.
I know there was a time in my life when I aimed to please people, meaning the Pastor and church members more than God, though I wasn't aware of it until afterward~ It is God we have to please and I learned I will never be perfect. Unlike people, who you can never really please anyway (not all of them, all the time), God takes you as you are. |

One thing I have heard from a preacher is concerning the law. If you are living on your own strength and doing things based on will power you are living under the law and it keeps bringing you back to Christ but it turns into a constant cycle and repeat because you don't give yourself totally over to God. The law can be any standard you try to set for yourself, you can't live like this and shouldn't because we aren't under the law no more but under grace. Not under grace to sin freely but under grace to walk freely. I love the book of Romans it is the court room scene of the gospel.
