My Aunt was cremated and asked her son to scatter her ashes. she told him she didn't want him to be looking for her as she was not going to be there. I and my wife will most lokely do the same but that is or personal choice. Cremation is under $1000 locally and a low cost funeral is $6,000 and up even if you own your gravesite.

You're right to wonder. There are many stories about heart recipients taking on the characteristics of the original owner of the heart.

Recently they discovered that the heart and a few other organs have brain cell like tissues.

They only needed to look to the Bible for that...it has always hinted and outright said that the heart is capable of thought & feeling.

Quote:
Genesis 6:5
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Leviticus 26:16
I also will do this to you:I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.

I really encourage you not to worry about donating organs. Sorry, I know that this isn't the subject of the thread, and I do have some thoughts to share on visiting cemetaries, but I really want to address this worry that somehow donating organs can transfer sin from one to another.

My father-in-law almost died the year we were married and he is with us today because of someone who donated thier organs upon death. Had my f-i-l died from his illness, my children would have never had known his love for them. Both of my children are adopted, and when they came to live with us, they were able to come into a loving family complete with grandmas and grandpas, aunties, uncles and cousins. Everyone helps contribute to their growth and adoption into this family, and my father-in-law has been the best grandpa anyone could imagine. They live right next door to us, and my kids are with him daily. How much they would have missed out on if he had died then. I praise God so much that he lived and praise God for the generosity of that person who chose to let his organs be donated so that my father in law could live.

Regarding visiting cemetaries, yes, of course it is a personal decision and there is no right nor wrong in either visiting or not. But, when we went as a family back to PA a couple of summers ago, and brought the kids with us, my in-laws took us to the cemetaries where the great-grandparents and other family members were buried. My mother-in-law had a story to tell about each relative and it made our family connection even stronger.

I know that those loved ones weren't in those graves, but it was a quiet respectful place to go, take the children and remember whom came before us.

I was talking to a nurse today and she told me of an event she had at her local cementary in West Virginia. Now this even set me back. She got married a few years ago and to honor her Grandmother (who raised her) actually had her Wedding at this Grave Site.

is right. That is the last place I would have a celebration.
The grandmother is not there. We need to honour the living not the dead.
