The movie shows Horus, along with many other saviors, that came long before Jesus. They all tell the story Jesus; how is this possible?
It states that Christians have coppied the Egyptians, and Jesus never existed. I've done my own research, and I'm worried. Horus was indeed the Egyptian savior, and his story is identical to that of Jesus, only he came 3000 years before Jesus... There are many others, in Crete, Rome... all leading up to Jesus. Something inside me tells me this is all wrong; I need to find the truth

Hi Robert!
I watched part of the movie you speak of, the one entitled "The gratest story ever told". I must say, it is impresive. There is even a refference in the end about a great Christian scholar who lived long ago who atributed all this to the devil. And, of course, the narrator makes fun of such "silly" explanation. He also makes fun of the another "regular Joe" Christian who supposedly told him God put the dinosor fossiles on earth to test our faith. Well, here's my opinion as a Cristian and as a woman who is very much interested in science and scientific proof as well as questions like how old the earth really is. In other words not some backward, illiterate person who does not know the answer to 2+2. I think I would love to personaly talk to this guy who's narrating and making fun. Anyway, my opinion is this: The eplanation that the devil is the one who staged all these similarities they are talking about may seem simplistic but never the less it is true. He(the devil) would not have it any other way. You see if there was a concrete piece of evidence, something like a fossil or a historical document or a person who's ancestors actually saw Jesus and talked to Him, what would there be left to believe. The devil is crafty and as Christiand we all know that but not by someting concrete but by divine revelation. Something inside that can not and will not be shaken by anything or anyone! This guy whoever he is is nothing but another tool of the devil. I'm sure there are many who would, if they studied, find these similarities. They probably exist and if they do no Christian should deny it. It's not about the similarities. It is about DECEPTION. What better way to shake people's confidence than to atack the very existence of the only ONE that can save them from eternal death! It really doesn't bother me to hear those ignorant fools say all these things about Jesus. It makes me pity them! I say let's wait! If they're right I guess will have egg on our faces, huh?... But if they're wrong, the constelations and the so called Sun God will not help them. They will fall and remain forever in a place without windows and doors where Jesus' refreshing presence will not exist. I can't think of a worse fate, so why argue and why be mad? The day will come when Jesus and not the sun will show up in the clouds on a white horse and split the eastern sky. Let's hope that through prayer some or all of these people who make fun now they would have turned by then. Otherwise the one that will have won as far as their lives are concerned will be the devil. You are right my friend to feel that ther is something wrong with what they are saying. It's not that the similarities are not true, is that those things they are talking about that mirror our Lord's birth, life, death and resurrection that supposedly hapened to the other guys are the myth and not Jesus. You see that's rather the point, wouldn't you say? Mixing truth with a little lie shrouded in "hystorical evidence" so that the confusion can be planted and doubt can spring up and grow! Hm... I wonder what "text" talks about that kind of tactic?... Oh yeah: THE BIBLE!! Laura

Hello, friend.
Well, I think it is baloney, but with a capital B~ Jesus wasn't born on Dec. 25 for one thing! And we can make something out of anything if we put our minds to it. God as my Holy witness, 3 days ago I had this premonition about people saying The son is the Sun in reality. I believe this is mostly mythology conveniently put together. God Bless. |

Are there any other views on this?? I've watched through the video again, and the "Satan did it" explination simply can't explain most issues; Satan didn't write the Bible, didn't create the stars, and so forth.
I've always been a Christain, and I've always belived in God. However, I'm starting to lose faith in Jesus Christ. It's just too much. I know there are scientific theories that coincide with the Bible, but many of them are flawed, and show a lack of understanding. Historically, things don't add up either. I remember in history class, learning that the pyramids were built thousands of years before the hebrews existed, and there is no record of infantcide; What about evolution, dinosaurs... none of it adds up anymore. I am Catholic. I will always belive in God. I will always be Christian; however, I'm starting to feel more liberal about the Bible; I'm starting to belive it's nothing more than a bunch of stories. I know God created the universe, and I know Heaven or Hell is at the end of it all, but I'm just not sure about Jesus. This is why I need guidence; are there even others like me? |

Robert,
I think your feelings are something many of us have felt in the past. Many things just don't add up in our minds, so how can the Word of God be true? Before I go any further, let me make something very clear. These statements cannot go together: Quote:
Many things in the Bible are tough to reconcile scientifically. But most of those things, quite honestly, really don't matter. What matters more: the exact date of the creation of the world or the fact that today Christ can begin to heal emotional wounds? The merits of evolution or the ability of an individual Christian to obey the Holy Spirit and change the life of someone less fortunate? No one can prove God, but we can all testify to the work Christ has done in our lives, it's the best and only proof any of us have. Test the wisdom of the Bible concering our relationship with God and how we are to conduct ourselves in daily life and see if that can be disproven. The parts you struggle with are mysteries, but in the big picture, are completely irrelevant. Don't let the small things get in the way of what matters most. |

Yes, I too believe it is human nature to doubt at some point in our lives.
Actually, doubt will increase our seeking the truth. I believe it was Bassmasa who stated there is no fence riding and being a Christian is believing in Christ's existence and accepting him. We all know satan wants to disprove Christ. How many people will he use and work through to do this? |
