i want "weather heaven or hell dont worry about me becous there is no way you can tell where i am"
i think my great grandpa has "weather heaven or hell i still have faith in god" but im not sure, i havent seen his yet, he died in december of last year, he was a vietnam vet, he had no fear, none, nothing scared him, he said you learn that when youve fought in the vietnam war.

This looks like a good time to re-post a nice thoughtful example of what headstone markings can mean. This is entitled:
The Dash... I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end... He noted that first came the date of her birth, the date that followed brought tears. But he said what mattered most of all was the 'dash' between those years. That dash represents all of the time spent alive here on earth... Now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not how much we own; the cars, the house, the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard; are there things that you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left; you could be a dash midrange. If we could just slow down long enough to find out what is true and real... And always try to understand the way other people feel. To be less quick to anger and show appreciation more. To love people in our lives we've never loved before. We'd treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile. Remembering that special dash will only last a while. When your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash... Would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your DASH? |

After long consideration, I want my tombstone to read:
"Was killed by a banana" Whether true or not, I still want people to get a laugh out of me when I'm gone... ...however, I fully intend to have a banana related death, just so I can go out laughing. |
