Are you a Long Distance Runner?

Have you ever been â€œwaiting position" I have several times? I feel this way that as Christian our live are a series of Highs, Lows and Steady periods. God does so that we grow as Christian, and in our Christian Maturity.

I relate it as a long distance runner, on the down times we are running uphill. This in turn builds our leg strength and our endurance so that when we start on an open or flat plane we can do it and never miss a stride!

and we can coast on the down hill times while still growing. Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.

God is always "Training us for the next long race! I hope I made some since out of what I was saying!

I think too often we forget to train to be that long distance runner! When times go ary thats when we must kick in that training.

I've been a runner for about 36 years. One time in my life I was going some extremely difficult and painful circumstances. I was on my knees praying with all my might, asking God, "Why am I going through these difficult circumstances?" and he surprised me by answering with a question, "Why do you run?" Without thinking I answered, "To be stronger". Exactly...

Looking back, I can see how those difficult circumstances made me stronger and closer to him.
