If you know Jesus, and accept him, you're saved. The only way to then slip out of being saved from that situation is to rebuke Jesus, and how many people who have been saved would do that?
Staying saved isn't an issue. Once saved, you're saved. Just live a holy life after that, to avoid looking like a hypocrite. |

Salvation is BY faith and Thru Grace- keep trusting and believing Jesus for your salvation- to receive grace is to have unmerited favor bestowed upon you- Jesus took all our sin and gave us all His righteousness- in Christ we are just as acceptable to God as Jesus is-
A good friend of mine once told me " when I get to heavens gates though I be an apostle or the littlest babe in Christ I will have but one leg to stand on and that is the shed blood of Jesus Christ"- let us look at it in the light of the following scripture: Tit 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Tit 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Again the scriptures declare it is not our goodness or works that produce salvation- good works are beneficial as stated in the next verse but salvation is of God- Tit 3:8This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. Here is another scripture for you : Rom 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Indeed we are saved by grace, let us keep our hearts focused on His goodness and mercy- if He is the center of our heart then the prayer, fellowship, works ,etc will flow out of us naturally- as we abide in the vine the very life of God flows thru our spirit and we bear fruit for His honor and glory-as we abide in Him out of our innermost being (our spirit) shall flow rivers of Living Waters ( the Holy Spirit) - ALL WORKS THAT MANIFEST THIS WAY ARE ACCEPTABLE TO GOD- ANY WORKS THAT STEM FROM THE FLESH ARE GOING TO BE BURNED AWAY- but salvation as stated above is not based on your works- here is one last scripture for you: 1Jn 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Do you have Jesus in your heart? If so believe on Him that you may KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE- no guessing here- we may know because we trust in Him for our salvation- if we could have done it He wouldn't have had to do it for us- have a blessed day- in His Name Larry |

IMHO, it`s not the certain actions that you need to do to stay saved, but the way you feel about God and it`s the relationship with Him...

Please forgive me, I am not arguing
.I understand we are saved through Grace and that we are forgiven. But there are personalities who would use this as a license to sin, feeling no matter what they do they remain saved. I just have a hard time understanding this. |

I have heard about such people but never once met one- I am sure they are out there but I am equally sure they were never saved in the first place- if you love Jesus you may still stumble and fall but you will never delibrately abuse Him.

Once you are saved and filled with the Holy Ghost...passing from spiritual death into spiritual life you are always saved, because when you are truly saved all you want to do is know more and more about Jesus, you just want to praise him and do all things that will please Jesus for passing you through darkness into his wonderful light!
When you are TRULY SAVED even if you fall into temptaion you cannot stay there, the holy ghost will convict you and that is the most horrible feeling. Why would Jesus give someone the Holy Ghost if he knew all they were going to do was loose it?? That would make no sense. God is a God of order. I do believe however that you can neglect the spirit and let it become weak and malnourished...but even still there is a conviction... you know you arent supose to be smoking...and you know your not supose to fall into fornication. The holy ghost will convict you...if there is no conviction they you never were filled with the Holy Ghost from the beginning! |

You couldn't save yourself before and you cannot do it now aside from total faith in Christ's saving power- the brethren I know who have grown to know God's grace are the gentlest, humblest and most godly men and women I know- there may always be a chance that some faker will abuse God's gift but again I say that person doesn't know Jesus- most but not all who shy away from grace because someone else may abuse it are usually ( but not always) in some form of legalistic bondage- I certainly don't want to end up like the brethren in Galatia trying to please God in my own strenght doing my own self righteous deeds- Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ- this phrase occurs 17 times in the love letter that is the New Testament, let us enter this grace and peace togeather- in His Name Larry

I am saying I know people who claim to be saved and purposely sin.
Yes they were once saved but can a person lie, gossip, be bitter and hate, and still claim to be saved? I don't see how they can still be saved when they purposely sin and still claim Jesus and salvation. You cannot have both... As you said, you cannot serve 2 masters. This is what I mean when I say I don't believe once saved, always saved, People backslide, turn from God. |
